Preprints.org: A New Preprint Service

We are very pleased to announce our new, multidisciplinary preprint platform – Preprints.org – supported by MDPI. Created for academics, Preprints.org will enable authors to set research precedents in all fields, not just specific subject areas. After submission and a brief editorial check, all articles will be posted online immediately. Articles receive a DOI number and are instantly citable, and specific metrics, like Views and Downloads are available for each post. All content is posted with a CC BY license and is free of charge to readers and authors. Posted preprints will not hinder publication in a peer-reviewed journal at a later stage. Different versions of this service have already been successfully implemented with arXiv, bioRxiv and PeerJ Preprints, however Preprints.org offers authors the first truly multidisciplinary service – all research fields, one preprints platform. For more information, please read our Editorial at: http://www.preprints.org/manuscript/201605.0001 or visit www.preprints.org.
