In May 2026, Preprints.org will officially celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Over the past ten years, Preprints.org has evolved into a global platform where researchers share their work, exchange feedback, and collectively advance open knowledge. To commemorate this 10-year journey, we will host a series of anniversary events and invite researchers worldwide to take part in what comes next.
#MyMostMemorablePreprint Sharing Continues
As part of the anniversary activities, the #MyMostMemorablePreprint sharing will continue until the end of the year. We invite you to share the stories behind the preprints that were a huge part of your academic life. Whether it was the first post or a breakthrough, celebrate your personal memories alongside ours.
So far, we have received several responses from the community, which are incredibly inspiring. You can browse these shared stories or post your own on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or Bluesky by searching for or using the hashtag #MyMostMemorablePreprint.
Annual Report to Be Released
We will release the 2025 Preprints.org Annual Report in May, providing an overview of our statistics, developments, performance, and community growth over the last year. The report will provide additional insights into how the platform has developed recently and where we are heading next.
Award Submissions Closing Soon
We will celebrate 110 popular preprints across 11 subject categories, with the 10 most popular preprints in each field being decided by a community vote. If you would like to be considered for the Popular Preprints of the Decade Award, please note that submissions close on 10 May 2026 (23:59 GMT+1).
Community voting is set to begin in September, and the winners will be announced in December. We warmly invite you to participate by casting your votes for your favorite preprints. Subscribe to the anniversary hub for a reminder when voting opens.
