Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
Sociology is a science that, in a synthesis, seeks to rigorously explain the social through other social phenomena through a plurality of paradigms and mobilizing diverse methodologies. As scientific knowledge, Sociology offers instruments to foster a reasoned reflection on several levels: on what Sociology is, on the conditions of its practice and on the society itself that sociologists study.
It is in this context that sociologists (from classical to contemporary) have sought to increase the heuristic capacity to apprehend socially constructed reality.
This topic intends to aggregate studies with potential scientific value about ‘’Teaching Sociology’’, in a broad sense, covering the teaching–learning of sociology both as scientific knowledge and as a profession, in the most diverse contexts.
Keywords: sociology; teaching; learning; sociologist; science; profession
