Abstract
A green and facile hydrothermal method for synthesizing of copper-doped hydroxyapatite (Cu-HA) nanowires was reported. In this research, oleic acid was completely replaced by food-grade peanut oil as both the solvent and template agent for the synthesis of hydroxyapatite nanowires (HAW). Results confirm that a uniform one-dimensional nanowire morphology Cu-doped HAW was successfully synthesized. In vitro cytotoxicity tests confirm that the material exhibits good biocompatibility and supports normal cell growth. This study presents a viable route for the green and multifunctional fabrication of HA nanowires.
