Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significant potential to advance sustainable development by facilitating the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the 2030 Agenda. This potential can be maximised through the concept of twin transition, where digital and green transformations support one another. This study examines the implementation of AI in study courses at the University of Ljubljana, focussing on the sustainable impact of such integration. A total of 26 practises incorporating AI into pedagogical processes in nine faculties were analysed, mapping each practice to the 17 SDGs and their 169 targets. The results suggest that AI can act as an enabler for 11 SDGs and 28 targets, while it also poses challenges that could hinder 7 SDGs and 11 targets. Despite the limited scope of the reports analysed, these findings provide valuable insights into the potential role of the twin-transition in education, highlighting both opportunities and risks associated with the integration of AI.
