4. Modelling and Discussion
- Case I: The thickness of the resolidified filler material was varied, while we kept the filler volume constant (tfiller=varied, Vfiller=constant).
- Case II: The effective soldered area was varied without the presence of voids (Aeff=varied, Avoid=0).
- Case III: The total joint area was kept constant, while its two components, i.e. the effective soldered are and the void area were varied (Atotal=Aeff+Avoid=constant, Avoid/Atotal=varied).
- Case IV: The effective soldered area was fixed, while varying the void area, which resulted in the variation of the total soldered area (Avoid=varied, Atotal=varied, Aeff=constant).
- Case V: The distribution of voids, i.e. their location was shifted within the total soldered area (Atotal=constant, Avoid=constant, posvoid=varied).
