Abstract

We show how it is possible to define and study black holes of arbitrary shapes in the framework of Newtonian mechanics.

Comment: The formulas have been renumbered by section. 2 misprints have been corrected in  formlas (2.2) and (3.1). Some details added in the proof of Propostion 2.3 which was a bit too sketchy.
