Since the discovery of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) as an oncogenic driver in a subset of breast cancers and the development of HER2 directed therapies, the prognosis of HER2 amplified breast cancers has increased meaningfully. Next to monoclonal anti-HER2 antibodies and tyrosine kinase inhibitors, the antibody-drug conjugate T-DM1 is a pillar of targeted treatment of advanced HER2-positive breast cancers. Currently, several HER2 directed antibody-drug conjugates are under clinical investigation for HER2 amplified but also HER2 expressing but not amplified breast tumors. In this article, we review the current preclinical and clinical evidence of the investigational drugs A166, ALT-P7, ARX788, DHES0815A, DS-8201a, RC48, SYD985, MEDI4276 and XMT-1522.

In this perspective review, we describe a brief background on the status quo of diabetes mellitus related therapies and glycemic control among patients in rural communities of sub Saharan Africa. We specifically talk about insulin therapy and the challenges of access to insulin and oral hypoglycemic therapies among the diabetic patients living in sub-Saharan Africa. We crown up our discussion with suggestions on solutions and opportunities for future research to tackle this health challenge in these impoverished communities. Our ideas have been informed by the following inquiries: What is the current situation with diabetes in Sub-Saharan Africa? How well controlled are blood sugar levels among diabetes individuals in Sub-Saharan Africa? What is insulin therapy, and for which patient populations is it recommended? What proportions of diabetic patients are on insulin therapy and oral hypoglycemic drugs in Sub-Saharan Africa? Which is the most common therapy given to diabetic patients in the rural communities of sub Saharan Africa between insulin and oral hypoglycemic drugs? Who determines the choice of therapy between insulin and oral hypoglycemic drugs? How often is hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia encountered among people on insulin therapy? Is monitoring glucagon levels important for treating diabetic individuals receiving insulin? Is it normal practice to check the glucagon levels of diabetes patients in sub-Saharan African rural communities? What insulin therapy research has been done in the rural communities of sub Saharan Africa and what research gaps exist in this field? Addressing these research gaps is critical for improving insulin therapy in rural communities of sub-Saharan Africa and reducing the burden of diabetes in these populations.

This paper aims to determine the insecticidal activity of Panyawan (Tinospora rumphii) leaf extract against American cockroach (Periplaneta americana). A quantitative experimental research design was employed in the study. Cockroach strains were collected through trapping and hand catch methods. Panyawan leaf was collected and extracted to achieve seven different concentrations. The concentrations and controls were tested against the strains through the standard contact glass jar bioassay. Results revealed that the shortest knock-down time was achieved by the positive control at 1.08 minutes while the Extracts of Panyawan leaf reported a 1.42 to 20.25 minutes knock-down time. Probit Regression reported that the lethal concentration 50 of Panyawan leaf extract was 15.836%. One-Way ANOVA revealed that there is a significant difference in the knock-down times of cockroaches when exposed to different Panyawan leaf extract concentrations, negative and positive controls (p<0.01). Homogeneous subsets derived from Post Hoc Test using Tukey’s Honest Significant Difference reported that there is no significant difference between positive control and Extract 100% (p>0.01).
