As a novel concept in technology and communication world, “Internet of Things (IoT)” has been emerged. In such modern technology, the capability to transmit data through data communication networks (such as Internet or Intranet) is provided for each organism (e.g. human being, animals, things, and so forth). Due to the limited hardware and communication operational capability as well as small dimensions, IoT undergoes quite a few challenges. Such inherent challenges not only cause fundamental restrictions in the efficiency of aggregation, transmission, and communication between nodes; but they also degrade routing performance. To cope with the reduced avail- ability time and unstable communications among nodes, data aggregation and transmission approaches in such networks are designed more intelligently. In this paper, a distributed method is proposed to set child balance among nodes. In this method, the height of the network graph is increased through restricting the degree; and network congestion is reduced as a result. Besides, a dynamic data aggregation approach -named as LA-RPL- is proposed for RPL networks. More specifically, each node is equipped with learning automata in order to perform data aggregation and transmissions. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms previously suggested base approaches in terms of energy consumption, network control overhead, and packet loss rate.

Mercury content in the output gas from boilers was predicted using an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). Input parameters were selected from coal characteristics and the operational configuration of boilers. The ANFIS approach is capable of developing a nonlinear model to represent the dependency of flue gas mercury content into the specifications of coal and also the boiler type. In this study, operational information from 82 power plants has been gathered and employed to educate and examine the proposed ANFIS model. Resulted values from the model were compared to the collected data and it indicates that the model possesses an extraordinary level of precision with a correlation coefficient of unity. The MARE% for training and testing parts were 0.003266 and 0.013272, respectively. Furthermore, relative errors between acquired data and predicted values were between -0.25% and 0.1% which confirm the accuracy of PSO-ANFIS model.

Cloud infrastructure provides computing services where computing resources can be adjusted on-demand. However, adoption of cloud infrastructures brings concerns like reliance on service provider network, reliability, compliance for service level agreements (SLAs) etc. Software-defined networking (SDN) is a networking concept which suggests the segregation of a network’s data plane from control plane. This concept improves networking behavior. In this paper, we present a SDN-enabled resource aware topology framework. The proposed framework employs SLA compliance, Path Computation Element (PCE) and share fair loading to achieve better topology features. We also present an evaluation, showcasing the potential of our framework.

In recent years, Parkinson's Disease (PD) as a progressive syndrome of the nervous system has become highly prevalent worldwide. In this study, a novel hybrid technique established by integrating a Multi-layer Perceptron Neural Network (MLP) with the Biogeography-based Optimization (BBO) to classify PD based on a series of biomedical voice measurements. BBO is employed to determine the optimal MLP parameters and boost prediction accuracy. The inputs comprised of 22 biomedical voice measurements. The proposed approach detects two PD statuses: 0– disease status and 1– reasonable control status. The performance of proposed methods compared with PSO, GA, ACO and ES method. The outcomes affirm that the MLP-BBO model exhibits higher precision and suitability for PD detection. The proposed diagnosis system as a type of speech algorithm detects early Parkinson’s symptoms, and consequently, it served as a promising new robust tool with excellent PD diagnosis performance.
