- Benchmarking against other municipalities to identify best practices and performance metrics from cities that are effectively mainstreaming environmental sustainability;
- Balancing service delivery, cost control, preservation of ecological infrastructure, development of renewable water and energy sources, and managing customer expectations amid changing demographics;
- Reviewing policies, regulations, and incentives to address any legal barriers to environmental sustainability;
- Establishing a monitoring & evaluation system to track the integration of environmental sustainability and adjust as necessary;
- Raising public awareness and education on environmental sustainability to involve the community in the development planning process;
