Abstract
Glycosylation is a fundamental molecular mechanism that integrates immune regulation, oncogenesis, inflammation, and pathogen interaction. Despite significant progress in understanding glycan biology, the clinical implementation of glycan-targeted strategies faces significant challenges due to the multifunctionality of glycans, their context-dependent nature, and methodological limitations. Overcoming these challenges requires the development of integrative platforms that combine glycomics with other omics disciplines, improved analysis methods, and the creation of more selective therapeutics. Glycobiology is one of the most promising areas of modern biomedicine, and further development of this discipline has the potential to revolutionize the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of many human diseases.
