Abstract
Ti35NbxSn alloys produced via Electrical Resistance Sintering were evaluated for their potential in biomedical applications, particularly dental implants. The study focused on the effects of Sn content and sintering current on electrochemical properties and tribocorrosion behaviour. Testing in Hartmann-Ringer solution and sulfuric acid showed that alloys with 6 wt.% Sn sintered at 11 kA offered the best performance, demonstrating superior corrosion resistance, minimal wear rates, and stable microhardness. Sn significantly enhanced the stability of passive oxide films, aiding in repassivation during slide. Ion release remained below acceptable levels, indicating biocompatibility.
