Cluster-based routing in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks is considered one of the convenient methods of routing. The existence of Cluster Head (CH) in a group of nodes for data forwarding improves the performance of routing in terms of routing overhead and power consumption. In this paper, a clustering algorithm using hierarchical routing for mobile ad hoc networks is proposed. In the proposed method, first, clusters are formed by the FLOC clustering method with low overlapping. Then, according to the most important network criteria, including hop count, noise ratio, distance, remaining energy, and link expiration time, head clusters are selected based on the weighting algorithm. To transfer data in the proposed method, two types of communication are used, e.g., inter-cluster communication and intra-cluster communication in which the shortest path to the target cluster is selected. The proposed P-METHOD technique is based on hierarchy and clustering as well as using a weighted algorithm that reduces delay in data transmission on the network. Moreover, P-METHOD is evaluated here via extensive simulations carried out in NS-2. The simulation results indicate that the MANET network performance metrics are improved in terms of average throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), delay, residual energy, and lifetime.

Endemic freshwater sponges (Demosponges, Lubomirskiidae) dominate in Lake Baikal and are multicellular filter-feeding animals represent a complex consortium of many species of eukaryotes and prokaryotes. In recent years, mass disease and death of the L. baicalensis have been an urgent problem of Lake Baikal. The etiology and ecology of these events remain unknown. Bacteria in microbiomes of diseased sponges of the families Flavobacteriaceae and Oxalobacteraceae were dominant. Both species are opportunistic pathogens common for freshwater ecosystems. The aim of our study is to analyze the genomes of strains Janthinobacterium sp. SLB01 and Flavobacterium sp. SLB02, isolated from diseased sponges to identify the reasons for their joint dominance. The first one attacks the other cells using type VI secretion system, suppress gram-positive bacteria with violacein pigment and regulate its own activity via quorum sensing. It makes the floc and strong biofilm by exopolysaccharide biosynthesis and PEP‐CTERM proteins expression. The second one utilizes the fragments of cell walls produced of polysaccharides. Named two strains have noticeable difference in carbohydrates acquisition. We described the possible way of joint occupation of ecological niche into freshwater sponge microbial community. This study expands understanding about symbiotic relationship of microorganisms with freshwater Baikal sponges.

Magnesium hydroxide continuous coagulation process was used for treating simulated reactive orange wastewater in this study. Effects of mixing conditions and retention time on the coagulation performance and floc properties of magnesium hydroxide were based on the floc size distribution (FSD), zeta potential and floc morphology analysis. Floc formation and growth in different reactors were also discussed.The results showed that increasing rapid mixing speed led to a decrease in the final floc size. Floc formation process was mainly carried out in rapid mixer, rapid mixing speed of 300rpm was chosen according to zeta potential and removal efficiency. Reducing retention time caused relatively small floc size in all reactors. When influent flow is 30 L/h (retention time of 2min in rapid mixer), the average floc size reached 8.06μm in rapid mixer, through breakage and re-growth, the floc size remained stable in flocculation basin. After growth, the final floc size reached to 11.21μm in sedimentation tank. The removal efficiency of reactive orange is 89% in magnesium hydroxide coagulation process.
