Abstract
The rapid expansion of Pakistan’s information technology (IT) sector has heightened demand for skilled professionals, yet comprehensive labour-market insights remain scarce. This study provides an empirical analysis of IT job postings collected from LinkedIn over a two-month period. It examines job trends, skill demand, geographic distribution, company hiring patterns, competition intensity, and industry-level dynamics. By converting large-scale online job data into actionable labour-market intelligence, the research offers practical insights for job seekers, employers, policymakers, and academic institutions. Findings reveal regional disparities, emerging IT hubs, skill shortages, and intense competition in fields such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The study also identifies structural challenges within Pakistan’s IT labour market and advocates the strategic application of national-level job analytics to inform workforce planning and policy development.
