Abstract
A population dynamics epidemic model is developed that incorporates age of infection
and age of vaccination. The model analyzes pre-symptomatic and symptomatic periods of an
infected individual in terms of infection age. The model analyzes the efficacy of vaccination in terms
of vaccination age. The model is applied to the 2003 SARS epidemic in Taiwan and the current
COVID-19 epidemic in New York State.
