Abstract

Various equipment has a very vital function in smart manufacturing that affects the production process. For this reason, it is necessary to maintain them to ensure their availability and health. Maintenance is important to minimize loss due to production problems such as breakdown stoppages, output or quality degradation, and resource consumption increase. Smart device maintenance can be carried out by the device owners themselves, but it often requires various parties involved such as device manufacturers, component suppliers, or third-party maintenance services. Maintenance cooperation involving various parties requires a secure and reliable platform for communication between parties as well as communication with the smart manufacturing devices. In this paper, we propose a permissioned blockchain-based maintenance system that can provide better security and reliability than traditional cloud-based systems.
