Abstract

2,7-bis(pyridin-4-ylethynyl)-9H-carbazole (1) was synthesized by reacting 4-ethynylpyridine hydrochloride with 2,7-dibromo-9H-carbazole. The full characterization of compound 1 is presented, and the crystal structure of its monohydrate co-crystal was determined by single-crystal XRD analysis.
