Let $\mathcal{\mathcal{S}}_{\cos}^{\ast}$ denote the class of normalized analytic functions $f$ in the open unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ satisfying the subordination $\dfrac{zf^{\prime}(z)}{f(z)}\prec\cos z$. In the second section of this article we find the sharp upper bounds for the initial coefficients $a_{3}$, $a_{4}$ and $a_{5}$ and the sharp upper bound for module of the Hankel determinant $|H_{2,3}(f)|$ for the functions from the class $\mathcal{S}_{\cos}^{\ast}$. The first result of the next section deals with the sharp upper bounds of the logarithmic coefficients $\gamma_{3}$ and $\gamma_{4}$ and we found in addition the sharp upper bound for $\left|H_{2,2}\left(F_{f}/2\right)\right|$. For obtaining these results we used the very useful and appropriate Lemma 2.4 of N.E. Cho et al. [Filomat 34(6) (2020), 2061--2072], and the technique for finding the maximum value of a three variable function on a closed cuboid. All the maximum found values were checked by using MAPLE\texttrademark{} computare software, and we also found the extremal functions in each cases. All of our present results are the best ones and give sharp versions of those recently published in [Hacet. J. Math. Stat. 52, 596--618, 2023].

Memristors are state-of-the-art, nano-sized, two-terminal, passive electronic elements with very good switching and memory characteristics. Owing to their very low power usage and a good compatibility to the existing CMOS ultra-high-density integrated circuits and chips, they are po-tentially applicable in artificial and spiking neural networks, memory arrays, and many other de-vices and circuits for artificial intelligence. In this paper, a complete electronic realization of ana-log circuit model of modified neural net with memristor-based synapses and transfer function with memristors and MOS transistors in LTSPICE is offered. Each synaptic weight is realized by only one memristor, providing enormously reduced circuit complexity. The summing and scaling implementation is founded on op-amps and memristors. The logarithmic-sigmoidal activation function is based on a simple scheme with MOS transistors and memristors. The functioning of the suggested memristor-based neural network for pulse input signals is evaluated both analytically in MATLAB-SIMULINK and in LTSPICE environment. The obtained results are compared one to another and are successfully verified. The realized memristor-based neural network is an im-portant step towards the forthcoming design of complex memristor-based neural networks for ar-tificial intelligence, for implementation in very high-density integrated circuits and chips.

Vertex-degree-based (VDB) topological indices have been applied in QSPR/QSAR. As an important category, the general logarithmic VDB topological index $T_{lnf}(G)$, is defined as the summation of $ln{f(d(u),d(v))}$, where the summation over all $uv\in E(G)$. In this paper, we give the sufficient conditions for that (1) the path $P_{n}$ is the only tree with the minimal $T_{lnf}$; (2) the star $S_n$ is the only tree with the maximal and the minimal $T_{lnf}$, respectively. As applications, the minimal and maximal trees of some logarithmic VDB indices are determined.

Given a polynomial $P(x_{1}, x_{2}, \ldots, x_{n})$ which is the sum of terms, where each term is a product of two distinct variables, then the problem $APSS$ consists in calculating the total sum value of $\sum_{\forall U_{i}} P(u_{1}, u_{2}, \ldots, u_{n})$, for all the possible assignments $U_{i} = \{u_{1}, u_{2}, ... u_{n}\}$ to the variables such that $u_{j} \in \{0, 1\}$. $APSS$ is the abbreviation for the problem name Algebraic Polynomial Sum Solver Over $\{0, 1\}$. We show that $APSS$ is in $\#L$ and therefore, it is in $FP$ as well. The functional polynomial time solution was implemented with Scala in \url{https://github.com/frankvegadelgado/sat} using the DIMACS format for the formulas in $\textit{MONOTONE-2SAT}$.

A fundamental tool in mathematical physics is the logarithmic Sobolev inequality. A quantitative version proven by Carlen with a remainder involving the Fourier-Wiener transform is equivalent to an entropic uncertainty principle more general than the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. In the stability, the remainder is in terms of an entropy, not a metric. Recently, a stability result for H¹ was obtained by Dolbeault, Esteban, Figalli, Frank, and Loss in terms of an L^p norm. Afterwards, Brigati, Dolbeault, and Simonov discussed the stability problem involving a stronger norm. A full characterization with a necessary and sufficient condition to have H¹ convergence is identified in this paper. Moreover, an explicit H¹ bound via a moment assumption is shown. Also, the L^p stability of Dolbeault, Esteban, Figalli, Frank, and Loss is proven to be sharp.

A variant of the usual formulas for gravitational and electrostatic fields, differing from those by a logarithmic term, is introduced in order to solve some questions connected with a possible atomic contraction phenomenon at large time scale and the so-called hidden mass problem in cosmology. This approach is conceptuallly related to the MOND theory of M. Milgrom but allows a reversal of attracting forces when the distance becomes very small. The asymptotic behavior of solutions of a related dissipative ODE is studied, we obtain that all bounded trajectories converge to a point where the field vanishes.

In the paper, the author introduces the notions "multi-order logarithmic numbers" and "multi-order logarithmic polynomials", establishes an explicit formula, an identity, and two recurrence relations by virtue of the Faa di Bruno formula and two identities of the Bell polynomials of the second kind in terms of the Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds, and constructs some determinantal inequalities, product inequalities, logarithmic convexity for multi-order logarithmic numbers and polynomials by virtue of some properties of completely monotonic functions.

In this paper, we study the fractional pseudo-parabolic equations u_t + (−△)^s u + (−△)^s u_t = u log |u|. Firstly, we recall the relationship between the fractional Laplace operator (−△)^s and the fractional Sobolev space H^s and discuss the invariant sets and the vacuum isolating behavior of solutions with the help of a family of potential wells. Then, we derive a threshold result of existence of global weak solution: for the low initial energy J(u₀) < d, the solution is global in time with I(u₀) > 0 or ∥u₀∥X_0(Ω) = 0 and blows up +∞ with I(u₀) < 0; for the critical initial energy J(u₀) = d, the solution is global in time with I(u₀) ≥ 0 and blows up at +∞ with I(u₀) < 0. The decay estimate of the energy functional for the global solution is also given.

The study of turbulent heat transfer in liquid metal flows has gained interest because of applications in several industrial fields. The common assumption of similarity between the dynamical and thermal turbulence, namely the Reynolds analogy, has been proven to be not valid for these fluids. Many methods have been proposed in order to overcome the difficulties encountered in a proper definition of the turbulent heat flux, such as global or local correlations for the turbulent Prandtl number or four parameter turbulence models. In this work we assess a four parameter logarithmic turbulence model for liquid metals based on RANS approach. Several simulation results considering fluids with Pr = 0.01 and Pr = 0.025 are reported in order to show the validity of this approach. The Kays turbulence model is also assessed and compared with integral heat transfer correlations for a wide range of Peclet numbers.

A family of singularly perturbed q-difference-differential equations under the action of a small complex perturbation parameter is studied. The action of the formal monodromy around the origin is present in the equation, which suggests the construction of holomorphic solutions holding logarithmic terms in both, the formal and the analytic level. We provide both solutions and describe the asymptotic behavior relating them by means of q-gevrey asymptotic expansions of some positive order, with respect to the perturbation parameter. On the way, the development of a space product of Banach spaces in the Borel plane is needed to provide a fixed point for a coupled system of equations.

The population growth, economic development and urbanization of the city of Douala in Cameroon are facing great challenges, particularly environmental and economic problems. However, there is an evolution of the road transport sector that has led to an excessive increase in the consumption of fossil fuels and over the last decades to an increase in greenhouse gases in the road transport sector. From this observation, no real policy has yet been put in place with a view to improving the energy efficiency of the transport sector. This work aim at analyzing the driving force factors of energy consumption in road transport in the city of Douala. In this study, a decomposition analysis through the Logarithmic Mean Divisa Index (LMDI) method is used during the period 2010-2019 to quantify their respective contributions in energy consumption. We have broken down road transport energy consumption into four main factors as main determinants such as: vehicle energy intensity, vehicle intensity, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita and population. The results show that vehicle energy intensity, vehicle intensity, GDP per capita and population effect all have a positive impact on energy consumption and therefore main responsible for the increase in fuel consumption energy contributing respectively to 13.06%, 31.30%, 12.85% and 42.76% of the total variation of energy consumption. It is therefore necessary to implement several energy saving strategies in order to achieve a rationalization of energy consumption for a reduction of road transport energy. Political decision-makers must take such a study into account to better integrate the notion of sustainable transport.

(1) Background: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly affected worldwide, with varying responses implemented to control its spread. This study aimed to compare the epidemic data compiled by the World Health (2) Methods: Organization to understand the impact of the measures adopted by each country on the mortality rate. The increase or decrease in the number of confirmed cases was understood in logarithmic terms, for which logarithmic growth rates “K” were used. The mortality rate was calculated as the percentage of deaths from the confirmed cases, which was also used for logarithmic comparison. (3) Results: Countries that effectively detected and isolated patients had a mortality rate 10 times lower than those that did not. Although strict lockdowns were once effective, they could not be implemented on an ongoing basis. In fact, after their cancelation, large outbreaks occurred because of medical breakdowns. The virus variants mutated with increased infectivity, which impeded the measures that were once effective, including vaccinations. Although the designs of mRNA vaccines were renewed, they could not keep up with the virus mutation rate. The only effective defence was steadily identifying and isolating patients. (4) Conclusions: These findings have crucial implications for the complete containment of the pandemic and future pandemic preparedness.

We introduce a class of logarithmic wave equation. We study the global existence of week solution for this class of equation. We deal with the initial boundary value problem of this class. Using the Galerkin method and the Gross logarithmic Sobolev inequality we establish the main theorem of existence of week solution for this class of equation arising from Q-Ball Dynamic in particular.

In this paper we study the initial boundary value problem for logarithmic Higher Order Wave equation. Introducing the Logarithmic Sobolev inequality and using the combination of Galerkin method, we consider the theorem of existence of a global weak solution to problem for the initial boundary value problem of the logarithmic wave equation. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function, we obtain the decay estimates of energy for logarithmic Higher Order Wave equation. The proof of the main theorem is given.

The article is devoted to biological models using recurrence sequences, which are connected with the harmonic progression 1, 1/2, …, 1/n, and some cooperative properties of genomes. The harmonic progression is itself one of the recurrence sequences based on the harmonic mean. This progression appears in the hyperbolic rules of oligomer cooperative organization in eukaryotic and prokaryotic genomes. This allows thinking that the harmonic progression is also related to inherited physiological systems, which must be structurally consistent with the genetic coding system for their transmission to descendants and survival in evolution. The harmonic progression is one of historically known mathematical series, whose features were studied by Pythagoras, Leibniz, Newton, Euler, Fourier, Dirichlet, Riemann. It is widely used in many known algorithms and is closely related to some other important mathematical objects, for example, the function of the natural logarithm and harmonic numbers. Accordingly, the article describes the possibilities of using these interrelated mathematical objects to model biological structures, including logarithmic spirals and some other. Modeling inherited spiral configurations seems to be a particularly urgent task, since they are extremely common at all levels of organization of living bodies and, according to Goethe, are lines of life. The principle of a recurrence similarity, that is a special similarity of parts and transformations presented in recurrence sequences of numbers and matrix operators (the scale similarity and scale transformations are only particular cases of such similarity), is considered as one of the key principles of structural organization of living bodies.

Distributed Systems architectures are becoming the standard computational model for processing and transportation of information, especially for Cloud Computing environments. The increase in demand for application processing and data management from enterprise and end-user workloads continues to move from a single-node client-server architecture to a distributed multitier design where data processing and transmission are segregated. Software development must considerer the orchestration required to provision its core components in order to deploy the services efficiently in many independent, loosely coupled - physically and virtually interconnected - data centers spread geographically, across the globe. This network routing challenge can be modeled as a variation of the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). This paper proposes a new optimization algorithm for optimum route selection using Algorithmic Information Theory. The Kelly criterion for a Shannon-Bernoulli process is used to generate a reliable quantitative algorithm to find a near optimal solution tour. The algorithm is then verified by comparing the results with heuristic solutions in 3 test cases. A statistical analysis is designed to measure the significance of the results between the algorithms and the entropy function can be derived from the distribution. The tested results shown an improvement in the solution quality by producing routes with smaller length and time requirements. The quality of the results proves the flexibility of the proposed algorithm for problems with different complexities without relying in nature-inspired models such as Genetic Algorithms and Simulated Annealing. This algorithm can be used by orchestration applications to deploy services across large cluster of nodes by making better decision in the route design.

In the paper, the authors express the Fuss–Catalan numbers as several forms in terms of the Catalan–Qi function, find some analytic properties, including the monotonicity, logarithmic convexity, complete monotonicity, and minimality, of the Fuss–Catalan numbers, and derive a double inequality for bounding the Fuss–Catalan numbers.

This research paper aims to explicate the complex issue of the Riemann's Hypothesis and ultimately presents its elementary proof. The method implements one of the binomial coefficients, to demonstrate the maximal prime gaps bound. Maximal prime gaps bound constitutes a comprehensive improvement over the Bertrand's result, and becomes one of the key elements of the theory. Subsequently, implementing the theory of the primorial function and its error bounds, an improved version of the Gauss' offset logarithmic integral is developed. This integral serves as a Supremum bound of the prime counting function Pi(n). Due to its very high precision, it permits to verify the relationship between the prime counting function Pi(n) and the offset logarithmic integral of Carl Gauss. The collective mathematical theory, via the Niels F. Helge von Koch equation, enables to prove the RIemann's Hypothesis conclusively.

Hardened air void analysis provides essential information of concrete freeze-thaw durability based on the size and spacing of air voids in the material. As the physical freeze-thaw experiment is time-consuming and costly, the characteristics of concrete air voids are often deemed as a proxy of the freeze-thaw performance. This analysis is typically done by measuring the 2D air void intersections on polished samples, but the current interpretation of the 2D void characters does not accurately represent the actual void structure in 3D. To solve this problem, a 2D-to-3D unfolding technique has been proposed in the field of stereology. However, the unfolding analysis is known to be sensitive to several factors, such as void population and size along with a binning scheme, where improper unfolding can considerably bias the prediction of the actual concrete void system. This study investigates the optimal strategy of conducting the unfolding analysis for concrete. The investigation is carried out on both idealized void systems to interrogate the influence of the critical factors individually, and real concrete samples with varying levels of air entrainment to assess the concrete-specific impacts. The concrete void system is studied based on a stereological model emulating the intersected 3D air voids on the surface of polished concrete. The results highlight that, for unfolding concrete voids, logarithmic binning scheme is far more accurate to linear binning. The low unfolding error of the concrete samples indicates that the proposed methodology enables an accurate restoration of 3D void size distribution.

The primary purpose of this article is to study the asymptotic and numerical estimates in detail for higher degree polynomials in $\pi(x)$ having a general expression of the form, \begin{align*} P(\pi(x)) - \frac{e x}{\log x} Q(\pi(x/e)) + R(x) \end{align*} $P$, $Q$ and $R$ are arbitrarily chosen polynomials and $\pi(x)$ denotes the \textit{Prime Counting Function}. The proofs require specific order estimates involving $\pi(x)$ and the \textit{Second Chebyshev Function} $\psi(x)$, as well as the famous \textit{Prime Number Theorem} in addition to certain meromorphic properties of the \textit{Riemann Zeta Function} $\zeta(s)$ and results regarding its non-trivial zeros. A few generalizations of these concepts have also been discussed in detail towards the later stages of the paper, along with citing some important applications.

The complex adaptive systems (CAS) research study investigates into the theoretical link of a sustained economic growth as a critical pathway to lift people out of poverty and improve their quality of life. The results show a left-skewed global behavior of an economy-driven human development of 189 countries with 20% or 27 countries obtaining low human development; 80% or 162 countries obtaining medium to very high human development of which 21.16% or 39 countries with medium HDI, 53 or 28.04% or 53 countries with high HDI, and 31.22% or 59 countries with very high HDI. Using the Log (GDP) for visual transformation, closer investigation into the scatterplot diagram reveals that there are also bimodal patterns where countries in the high amplitude and low amplitude groups obtained different human development outcomes despite less or more on economic growth variances mirror on the government policy priorities resulting in four differentiating conditions. Very few countries experience virtuous cycles where both growth and human development are successful; few countries with vicious cycles where both are weak; and many countries with lopsided conditions where the economy is strong but human development is weak, or conversely ones where human development is strong but the economy is weak. The global pattern of economy and human development illustrated by an upward sinusoid or sine wave refutes the conventional linear approach. Uniquely and most importantly, the sinusoidal wave illustrates a decreasing amplitude and decreasing periods as countries manifest apparently complex behaviors that emerge as a result of often nonlinear spatio-temporal interactions among a large number of component systems at different levels of organizations and governments leading to an emergence of a behavior characterizing of a complex adaptive system.

This review is a first attempt at bringing together various concepts from research on wall- and magnetically-bounded turbulent flows. Brief reviews of both fields are provided: The main similarities identified are coherent (turbulent) structures, flow generation and transport barriers. Examples are provided and discussed.

It has recently been discovered that mere cell contact by human cytomegalovirus (CMV) particles leads to profound modulation of cellular gene expression. Reduced monocyte human leukocyte antigen (HLA-DR) expression is a novel biomarker of severity and outcome in many diseases. Modulation of CD14 protein by CMV was shown in vitro, but little is known about the phenomenon in vivo (during active cytomegalovirus disease). Therefore, we investigated monocyte CD14 and HLA-DR expression in CMV infected patients in relation to logarithmic phase of infectious process. Samples from patients with active CMV replication (exponential growth of CMV viremia) were tested. After CD45/SSC gating monocyte CD14 and HLA-DR expression were determined by double-color flow-cytometry. Significant monocytosis and poor correlation between CMV replication and CD14+HLA-DR(-) cells prompted CD14 investigation. During logarithmic phase of CMV infection increased count and percentage of CD14low monocytes were observed which correlated with viral replication in several clinical situations except when there was a rapid recovery without relapse. Furthermore, most of CD14low monocytes are HLA-DR+. The increase of CD14low monocytes is also observed under the influence of high dose of glucocorticoids (20 mg of dexamethasone). The reduction in CD14 induced by CMV and dexamethasone indicates that the monocyte balance is disturbed between the classical and non-classical phenotype. A high percentage of CD14lowHLA-DR+ probably gives rise to adaptive and a decrease of innate immune response. In light of the logarithmic increase of viral load (with exponent between 3,23 and 5,77), high monocytosis above 1200 / µl is a hallmark of CMV replication.

In the paper, by induction and recursively, the author proves that the generating function of multivariate logarithmic polynomials and its reciprocal are a Bernstein function and a completely monotonic function respectively, establishes a Lévy-Khintchine representation for the generating function of multivariate logarithmic polynomials, deduces an integral representation for multivariate logarithmic polynomials, presents an integral representation for the reciprocal of the generating function of multivariate logarithmic polynomials, computes real and imaginary parts for the generating function of multivariate logarithmic polynomials, derives two integral formulas, and denies the uniform convergence of a known integral representation for Bernstein functions.

In the paper, the authors present unified generalizations for the Bell numbers and polynomials, establish explicit formulas and inversion formulas for these generalizations in terms of the Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds with the help of the Faà di Bruno formula, properties of the Bell polynomials of the second kind, and the inversion theorem connected with the Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds, construct determinantal and product inequalities for these generalizations with aid of properties of the completely monotonic functions, and derive the logarithmic convexity for the sequence of these generalizations.

In the paper, the authors present an explicit form for a family of inhomogeneous linear ordinary differential equations, find a more significant expression for all derivatives of a function related to the solution to the family of inhomogeneous linear ordinary differential equations in terms of the Lerch transcendent, establish an explicit formula for computing all derivatives of the solution to the family of inhomogeneous linear ordinary differential equations, acquire the absolute monotonicity, complete monotonicity, the Bernstein function property of several functions related to the solution to the family of inhomogeneous linear ordinary differential equations, discover a diagonal recurrence relation of the Stirling numbers of the first kind, and derive an inequality for bounding the logarithmic function.
