This article aims to identify the relationship between sustainability and strategic management to determine whether sustainability can be considered a strategic management research fashion. This involves a bibliometric analysis of recent academic literature from 2021 to 2023 to identify the latest academic research, key trends, collaboration and keyword networks within this relationship. The analysis was conducted using two datasets from the Scopus database. These datasets focus on English-language journal articles on business, management and accounting. The first covers academic research on strategic management, while the second expands to sustainability and sustainable development. The results show that strategic management research focusing on sustainability has recently grown faster (24.70%) than the whole strategic management research area (14.30%). Furthermore, the geographical analysis of co-authorship identified articles from 88 countries, suggesting a broad interest in this relationship. Notably, the strategic management network mapping revealed a unique, sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and sustainability cluster. Moreover, extended mapping revealed four clusters covering crisis management, strategic and creative sustainable development, operational and regulatory sustainability, sustainable supply chains, and resource management. The results thus confirm the rapid growth and widespread coverage of research on sustainability and strategic management, highlighting sustainability as a strategic management research fashion.

: This study aims at exploring Turkish consumers’ behaviors toward purchasing green fashion. A mixed-methods approach was used in this study. Six experts from the main brands in the fashion industry in Türkiye were interviewed. A total of 268 questionnaires were collected from Turkish consumers, and their responses were analyzed. The theory of planned behavior (TPB) informed the theoretical framework of this study. The main components of the TPB were extended to include perceived consumer effectiveness. A thematic analysis was conducted to analyze and code the interviews. To test the hypotheses, structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted. The findings show that the key factors of the TPB, i.e., attitudes (ATTs), subjective norms (SNs), and perceived behavioral control (PBC), as well as perceived consumer effectiveness, significantly impact the intentions of Turkish consumers to purchase sustainable fashion. However, the results highlight some inconsistencies, gaps, and barriers that discourage the purchase intentions of consumers, including a lack of information, misinformation, greenwashing, green skepticism, a lack of trust, and the high cost of sustainable fashion.

The need of research is often a complex issue. The standardization of methodologies, deeply rooted in the scientific method, has allowed humanity to progress. Since the fashion industry represents one of the most problematic industries globally, it is paramount to investigate the handicaps of fashion research practice. The goal of this systematic review is to outline the most used methodologies in the fashion research field that are being explored to achieve sustainability goals. The findings highlight the fragmentation of the literature in fashion research methodologies in relation to sustainability. Interviews and case studies are the most used methods while other less conventional, like Social Life Cycle Assessment, have been also tried. Finally, it is tested how ChatGPT can discuss and inform future routes to incorporate the findings. Together, this work reveals the handicaps of the fashion research methodologies and show an example on how ChatGPT can be assessed to help the fashion practitioners define research plans to achieve sustainable goals.

This study considers ways to increase the consumption of sustainable fashion, given the significant environmental and social damages, associated with the industry. A series of experiments were conducted examining the impacts of choice architecture (nudges) under field conditions in collab-oration with one of Israel’s largest shopping centers. The study sought to identify which inter-ventions at the retail level successfully motivate sustainable fashion behavioral change regarding purchases and willingness to pay more, along with agreement with several statements regarding the climate crisis and sustainable fashion. Among the types of nudges examined in this field study were providing information, increasing accessibility to sustainable alternatives and appealing to social identity, in relation to demographics and green self-image. The study found that offering alterna-tives to consumers constitutes the most effective way to “nudge” consumers toward more sus-tainable purchasing behavior. Nonetheless, this does not negate the contribution of providing in-formation and strengthening social norms regarding sustainable fashion. Additionally in all groups, most participants reported that they do not know how to distinguish between sustainable and non-sustainable fashion, nor do they believe that the clothes they purchased were actually sustainable. The findings emphasize the need for policies that will increase the accessibility of sustainable fashion.

His two legs and genitals were gone after he stepped on a mine in Russia. She made a deal with Karl von Eiderfeld, the albino, by making him one of her stockholders in Hélène Junot International Inc., unless von Eiderfeld preferred to have his document as a war criminal handed to the Israelis authorities. Hélène had a natural talent for fashion and dreamed that one day she would be a fashion magazine publisher. She became Madame Dupré's assistant. It was Madame Dupré who had encouraged her to go to Paris to start her carrier. During an art exhibition, she met Odile Joly, a prominent designer who was attracted to her beauty and manners. When working as Madame Dupré's seamstress, Hélène met Hubert de Legér who had fallen in love with her at first sight and became obsessed by her beauty. Later, Hélène became Comte de Legér’s mistress (Hubert’s father) and was saving money by selling all the jewelry that the Comte had given her to start looking for the two Nazis and fulfilling her childhood dream. Hélène was later married to Stanislaw Kowalsky, a distinguished concert pianist, but the marriage only lasts a few months. Hubert de Legér had murdered Stanislaw out of jealousy and hatred. From the money she got from Comte de Legér and Stanislaw, Hélène was able to trace the two Nazis and established Hélène Junot International Inc. She then married Siegfred Bavier, but again it did not last long. Siegfried died in his office. Despite her success in finding the two Nazis, Hélène was not content. Her life became complete and whole after she met Nigel Somerset, who later married her.

The limited understanding of how digital platforms, especially the Metaverse, influence public perception and attitude towards sustainable fashion in large scaled markets such as China highlights a critical gap. This study aims to examine the perspectives and perception of the Chinese public regarding sustainable fashion in the Metaverse. Through content analysis, this study evaluated 3,889 Weibo posts from Shanghai Fashion Week 2024 to identify key sentiments and discussions on sustainable and digital fashion. Results indicate that 76.08% of the conversations centered on sustainable fashion, reflecting strong public commitment to environmental issues. The findings highlight characteristics of public perception towards the utilization of immersive technologies and underscore the Metaverse's potential as a platform for fostering environmental consciousness in the fashion industry. This research provides crucial insights for fashion brands looking to integrate sustainability into their digital strategies, addressing a significant gap in current literature and offering practical guidance for leveraging digital platforms to promote sustainable consumption.

Fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world representing a 2 trillion dollars and growing valuation (Pal, 2017). This dual context makes its challenges hard to address. From one side, fashion design education and practice systems have been perpetuating an industrial-focused approach which relies mostly in the economic improvement through fast cycles of product development (Pal, 2017). On the other side, fashion industry has also been closed to either multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary initiatives outside the scope of the artistic disciplines. Therefore, innovative approaches are needed to solve fashion industrial challenges. One of the most promising fields to tackle fashion current environment and technological problems is microbiology (Mazzoto et al., 2021). During the past 50 years, microbiology has played a vital role in solving human grand challenges in health, agriculture, food, and waste management sectors, and it also represents an opportunity for fashion industry as well. Microbiology biotechnological potential for the fashion industry relies mostly on the improvement of toxic waste bioremediation and the development of novel biomaterials and biomolecules. Moreover, the emergent field of synthetic biology is expanding the tools and approaches available, and they can already be seen in the development of engineered living materials that have functional properties (Mazzoto et al., 2021). Despite the urgent need for change, there is still a long way until a more sustainable fashion industry is achieved. Therefore, microbiological research and innovation need maturation to be able to scale-up and reach a global impact for tackling fashion industrial problems.

As a mediator variable, self-confidence is one of the most effective elements of the decision-making process of consumer behaviour. This research has studied the effects of different aspects of consuming fashion on the self-confidence and behaviour of consumers in Tehran’s clothing market. This study has considered the acceptance of new products, interest in mode and fashion, utilitarianism, and personal taste in its analysis. This research aims to understand the fashion buying behaviour amongst Iranian consumers in consideration of their attitude towards self-confidence and aspects of fashion consumption. The statistic sample is 400 consumers from Tehran’s clothing market who have been chosen based on the random availability procedure. The primary tool in this research was a questionary used to testify the assumptions and a model fit created by using structural equations and factor analysis. This research showed that the interest in mode and fashion, personal taste, utilitarianism, and new products positively impact self-confidence. In addition, the positive impact of self-confidence on fashion buying behaviour was confirmed.

How the subculture and marginalized community have become the leading sectors in the egalitarian and inclusive creative economy is a growing issue and still needs elaboration. One of the subculture phenomena that happened recently in one of Southeast Asia's countries is known as Citayam Pop-up and Makeshift Fashion Week (CFW). Then this paper aims to elaborate on how the CFW can contribute and play a significant role in the development of an egalitarian and inclusive creative economy. The current CFW was not developed instantly, yet it is through the complexities of push and pull factors that are very typical among SE Asian marginalized people that led to the onset of SE Asian subculture, particularly among the youth. Driven by finding their self-identity, wanting to belong, and combined with economic, family, and peer pressures, this group of suburban youth, at the beginning, find a corner of a city in the middle of the business district as a medium to express their identity in the form of CFW. As a result and in lieu of growing discourses, the CFW has boosted local economic growth, and the adolescents who participated in the CFW have also received endorsement from a startup business for marketing certain teen products. In the long term, the mutual relationships created can lead to job opportunities

Consumer, as one of the vital stakeholders of fashion supply chain, has a significant role to play to transition fashion industry into sustainable direction. From purchasing and care practice to donation and disposal, every step of their decision has impact on the environment. Various internal and external variables, including culture, custom, value, belief, norm and assumption, economy, gender, and education etc. influence forming that decision. The result of the decision not only directly impacts he environment and society, but also consumer culture and future business opportunity. This study synthesizes a wide spectrum of consumer behavior related to clothing consumption and associated environmental impact. Building on the synthesis, a holistic discussion is offered which can provide relevant behavioral guideline to consumers as well as other stakeholders.

With global climate change and resource constraints looming large, sustainable design has become a focus of attention for all industries. The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes and behavioural intentions of undergraduate fashion design students towards sustainable fashion practices. Undergraduate fashion design students (n = 441) from three universities in Guangdong Province, China, participated in this survey. By constructing different scales of environmental knowledge, attitude towards sustainable fashion practice and behavioural intention towards sustainable fashion practice, and by using structural equation modelling to analyse the relationship between environmental knowledge and sustainable fashion practice, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) environmental knowledge has a positive effect on attitude towards sustainable fashion practice (p＜0.05); (2) environmental knowledge has a positive effect on behavioural intention towards sustainable fashion practice (p＜0.05); (3) Subjective norms has a positive effect on behavioural intention towards sustainable fashion practice (p＜0.05). (4) Attitudes towards sustainable fashion practice play a mediating role in the relationship between environmental knowledge and intentions towards sustainable fashion practice behaviour (p＜0.05). The findings of this study have implications for environmental education for undergraduate fashion design students and for sustainable production in companies.

Naturally-derived synthetic leather is a widely used and high-quality type of faux leather or synthetic leather. Many consumers prefer authentic leather goods due to their exceptional qualities, including high water vapor permeability and superior wearing comfort. Consequently, the exploration of artificial leather made from natural materials with exceptional qualities as an alternative to genuine leather has garnered significant interest and is now a highly studied subject. Synthetic leather, sometimes known as imitation leather, has gained popularity recently as a highly suitable alternative to genuine leather. Continuous advances in this area of research increase the range of uses for synthetic leather using natural fibers. Thus, this research aims to explore synthetic leather materials using orange peel waste, which can be applied to the fashion industry. This research applies several types of orange peel waste, such as Pomelo, Sweet orange, and Sunkist orange, to different compositions and strengthening materials, such as bandages and dacron. The resulting bio-composite materials' morphology, mechanics, and adhesive properties were evaluated following ASTM D 2209-00 and ASTM D 4533-04 standards. The results indicate that specimen 1A (Pomelo using bandage as reinforcement) has the most significant effects, with a tensile test value of approximately 472 N/cm2, an elongation of roughly 67.28 % was the highest value on sweet orange using bandage as reinforcement, and a tear resistance of around 14.28 N/cm2 for Pomelo with bandage as reinforcement. Furthermore, the test results also show that composition 2B still does not meet the standards of SNI 1294:2009 and ISO 3376 for tensile strength and ISO 3377-1 for tear strength. Additionally, statistical analysis showed no appreciable changes in the samples analyzed. Furthermore, statistical evaluations showed no significant alterations in the studied samples. The results of this experimental investigation can be explored further and used as a basic framework for the creation of bio-composites from orange peel waste for future fashion.

The rapid growth of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) services in various industries has stimulated innovation. This study proposes a research framework and theoretical model based on self-determination theory (SDT) to examine consumers’ purchase intentions for VR and AR service technologies. The research scope includes fashion brands that use VR and AR service technologies. The study employs in-depth interviews to identify the key drivers of VR and AR technologies for fashion brands. The research design uses an online survey of 675 fashion brand consumers to collect questionnaire data employing structural equation modeling (SEM) and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to test the research hypotheses and answer the research questions. This study contributes to understanding consumer technology and psychological perceptions about implementing fashion brands with VR and AR service technologies for future service design and marketing. The research findings show that perceived value, perceived enjoyment, perceived informativeness, presence, and consumer experience affect purchase intention positively when using AR/VR service technologies. Further, the results highlight that perceived value, enjoyment, and informativeness affect consumer experience. The results of the FsQCA show that the causal conditions of perceived value, perceived enjoyment, perceived informativeness, presence, and consumer experience are sufficient and necessary for higher purchase intention for consumers in the fashion brand context.

Despite extensively investigating the impact of social media on fashion products’ marketing, little evidence is available on how the platforms influence sales prediction. Focusing on Lolita fashion, this study investigates the impact of social media marketing on the sales volume prediction of fashion products. Essentially, we analyzed marketing data, including comments, likes, and shares from the Weibo social platform, to forecast future sales, examine how to enhance profit performance, and make production decisions. Using a quantitative approach, we tested three different prediction models, including multiple regression, decision tree, and XGBoost. The results revealed that increasing comments and decreasing the number of likes could significantly improve the sales volumes of Lolita products. In contrast, shares exerted a less significant impact on sales. Regarding prediction models, XGBoost was found to be the best method. In the fashion industry, social media is a useful tool for forecasting market trend. A limitation of this study is that only one social media platform was used to extract data, which might limit the generalization of the findings.

According to Hofstede’s theory of cultural dimensions, cultures differ in cultural values and norms; values and norms that may influence differences in trendsetting, creative traits and behaviors, and pro-environmental behaviors. Further, because men and women have been socialized within particular cultures, gender differences may exist in trendsetting, creative traits and behaviors, and pro-environmental behaviors. Trendsetters have characteristics that are interrelated with creative traits and behaviors, perhaps inclining them to endorse pro-environmental behaviors. However, the interrelationships among these variables remain unexplored. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine these three variables among college students in South Korea and the United States, specifically looking at cultural and gender differences. Participants were 225 Korean college students and 221 U.S. college students. Questionnaires included demographic items and scales measuring trendsetting, creative traits and behaviors, and pro-environmental behaviors. Data analyses included descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha reliability, MANOVA, ANOVA and SNK posthoc test. Results show that U.S. (vs Korean) students indicated greater trendsetting and creative traits and behaviors but not greater pro-environmental behaviors. Fashion trendsetting groups in both Korea and the U.S. differed in creative traits and behaviors and pro-environmental behaviors. Among Korean trendsetting groups, reluctant adopters scored lowest on creative traits and behaviors and pro-environmental behaviors. Among U.S. trendsetting groups, trendsetters scored highest on creative traits and behaviors and pro-environmental behaviors; reluctant adopters scored lowest on pro-environmental behaviors. Theoretical and practical implications are provided for researchers and marketers.

Aloe vera is well known for its biological properties as a bioflavonoid-anti-inflammatory, antibacterial agent. It has been used frequently in the food sector as food coating for its hygroscopic properties and as an ingredient in the lucrative industry. Studies have also included Aloe vera as an eco-friendly green solution based on these properties. The current research focuses on the use of Aloe vera gel in printing pastes as an alternative sustainable solution to synthetic thickeners, evaluating its wet performance and ease of fabric stitching, and has been inspired by studies that similarly used this substance measuring its effect on the fabric's coefficient of friction and antimicrobial action. In the current study, printing pastes with natural colourants and Aloe vera gel thickener derived from natural leaves from Crete increased the fabric's mechanical resistance to abrasion compared to the untreated pastes. The measured performance did not differ substantially from prints with traditional synthetic pastes, hence tolerating the substitution with the non-contaminant variant. The enhanced resistance to abrasion and wear prolongates the fabric's serviceable life and resulting garments, decreasing the need for high industry processing volumes and, as a result, reducing pollution. The resistance to wear was evaluated using the dominant method in textile testing of the Martindale apparatus, which measured the cycles to failure, weight loss, and general appearance deterioration using the official photographic standards.

The collapse of the Rana Plaza factory profoundly affected the fashion industry and society, serving as a reminder of the importance of social issues in academics and practice. Some scholars have pointed out that academia lacks fashion studies on social issues that are more prevalent in developing countries. Therefore, this study aims to determine a meta-analysis of sustainable fashion research since the Rana Plaza collapse and how it aligns with the United Nations' sustainable development goals (SDGs). The applied method is automated content analysis, and seven academic agendas were extracted by analyzing sustainable fashion literature. The findings showed that academic scholarship has covered various topics, ranging from design to social issues, whereas the results have not clarified the relationship between social issues and developing countries. The findings also show that SDG 12 stood out, which is responsible consumption and production. Aside from the production community, consumers need to be aware of socio-environmental problems to make harmonious lifestyle choices with nature. Furthermore, scholars need to align themselves with an easier-to-understand concept of sustainable fashion to make a public appeal for it as a societal importance.

The growth of the fаshion industry in Bаndung, which is increаsing every yeаr, if it is not bаlаnced with the аpplicаtion of digitаlizаtion аnd the use of the lаtest technology, it would be very unfortunаte. Аpаrt from the increаse in the number of internet users, the online shopping style by the community is аlso one of the driving forces for the growth of e-commerce, especiаlly in the midst of the current Covid pаndemic situаtion. This study will exаmine the аdoption of e-commerce technology to sell online in the midst of the Covid pаndemic to fаshion industry plаyers in Bаndung using these vаriаbles: effort expectаncy, performаnce expectаncy, fаcilitаting conditions, sociаl influence, existing hаbits, hedonic motivаtion, and also the price vаlue in the UTАUT2 model. So thаt it cаn show how the contribution of the аdoption of e-commerce technology to the behаviourаl intention аnd use behaviour of the fаshion industry consumers in Bаndung. Our research use quаntitаtive approach, cаusаl research/study with Structurаl Equаtion Modeling (SEM) аnаlysis technique using the SMАRTPLS 3.2.9 softwаre. Reseаrchers chose the аccidentаl sаmpling with а totаl of 400 respondents. Аll exogenous vаriаbles аffect behаviourаl intention by 80.9% аnd 54.9% on use behаviour.

This study analyzed the levels of mental workload and the presence of burnout on a sample of fashion retailing workers from Spain and its relationship with the actual Covid-19 pandemic by exploring Covid-19 pandemic predictors of burnout and mental workload. We established a prospective cross-sectional design. Participants (n = 360) answered an online survey including questions about sociodemographic data, perception of Covid-19, CarMen-Q questionnaire (workload), and MBI (burnout syndrome). We obtained data throughout October-November 2020. The results showed that participants exhibit deep concern about the Covid-19 pandemic and its influence at the work level. Although the mental workload was near the middle point of the scale, participants showed moderate to high burnout levels, revealing that the sample is at risk of experiencing higher burnout levels over time as the pandemic and associated economic crisis continue. The multidimensional regression analysis results indicated that environmental changes, work overload, somatic symptoms, insomnia, negative job expectations, and uncertainty constituted significant mental workload predictors. Insomnia, somatic symptoms, and negative job expectations constituted significant predictors for burnout. In conclusion, the uncertainty at work derived from the Covid-19 pandemic is harming the psychological wellbeing of fashion retailing workers in Spain.

Previous studies implied the different behavioral intention formation of a specific object for individuals in different age groups, but few research to Chinese consumers’ sustainable fast fashion behaviour were found considering the enormous amount of consumption and waste of fast fashion products in China. Meanwhile, as a fast developing country, it might be insufficient to conduct research ignoring the consequences of different education level and growing environment among different generations. Thus, to generate in-depth and heuristic Chinese consumers information, this study developed proposed theoretical framework (TORA) based on research by Fishbein and Ajzen (1975), while the validity among Chinese consumers was tested as well. Following the TORA model, this study aims to investigate if consumers’ age will moderate the relationship between attitude and intention, and the relationship between subjective norms to behavioral intention. Through structural equation modelling in AMOS, it was found that the model has a well fit to large sample of Chinese consumers, while the moderation effect of age was not significant in the whole sample. Further hierarchical regression analysis conducted in SPSS and Process was able to locate the moderation effect of if divide the consumers into groups by age. Which is, age is significantly and positively moderating the path subjective norms to intention in younger generation (18-25), but significantly positive moderating attitude to intention in consumers aged 26-39. Implications in marketing and to policy makers are discussed at the end of this research.

The present study seeks to assess the Brand Equity in the network of new fashion designers in the Canary Islands. To this end, we have adapted the Brand Equity model to an online context and proposed a set of metrics for four dimensions: estimate, relevance, awareness, and differen-tiation. The multidimensional approach to online Brand Equity was employed to measure the online Brand Equity of 129 fashion designers from the Canary Islands. The study's findings re-vealed that the number of social media profiles significantly impacts brand awareness and dif-ferentiation. Moreover, the digital maturity level influences brand relevance and overall Brand Equity . Our study highlights the practical value of web data-driven metrics for measuring online Brand Equity , which can be utilised for diagnostic, evaluative, or predictive purposes. The study's outcomes have substantial implications for marketers in the fashion industry aimed at improving online Brand Equity

The rapid penetration of social media has been redefining every facet of the old marketing and customer engagement tactics, not only for the low-end and mass products but also for luxury brands. In this context, brands are dealing with the challenge of keeping the balance between using mass marketing strategies concurrent with accentuating the exclusivity of their offerings. Social media can be considered a boon if brands employ them to reach the right audience and use the right platform by incorporating the right content. In this work, we propose a sector-specific, integrated, and holistic investigation of the social media strategies of luxury brands, together with the impact they generate in terms of the engagement level of the users as an indicator of their success. We provide empirical validation of the method in the sector of luxury fashion brands in the Italian market, providing qualitative and quantitative analysis of the content shared on social media, considering the type, timing, and modality of the sharing. We evaluate consumer-brand engagement in different contexts, including important live events in the field.

This study investigated how fashion is expressed on social media platforms from a media ecology perspective of sustainable digital space-time, as society evolves into a digital ecosystem. Media ecology concerns how the media environment transforms human experience and impacts society and culture. A theoretical review of media ecology was conducted, and the Instagram account of global fashion influencer Susanna Lau (@susiebubble) was analyzed as a case study. In total, 300 fashion-related images were collected out of 5,817 uploaded to Lau’s Instagram between May 2012 and June 2019. These were analyzed—alongside their titles, content, hashtags, and commentaries—for visual phenomena conveying everyday divisions between spatiality and temporality, public and private, real and virtual, and geography and culture, which demonstrate ambiguous boundaries. The analysis revealed that the images reflect nuances of digital time and space as they emerge in social media, and represent a nonboundary of style across the binaries of work and leisure, public and private, real and virtual, and geography and culture—signifying a sustainable digital lifestyle. These findings illustrate how our changing daily lives are visualized through fashion on a sustainable digital platform, and suggest ongoing research into the practical impact of technological advances on fashion.

The clothing industry is a hotbed for exploitative working conditions and environmental damages, of which affluent global North countries remain a substantial driver. The circular economy is a potential solution to these issues, but its social implications remain unclear. Using the UK as a case study, this article analyses the global social impacts of a transition to circular clothing economies in the global North, finding these to be (almost) entirely dependent upon the intentions and design of the associated politics. Some aspects of a transition will be unambiguously good for some people; others will only be beneficial with careful governance. Moreover, entrenched global economic inequalities leave trade-offs borne largely by the global South, highlighting the need for circular economy research – its drive for localisation notwithstanding – to look globally to consider how a fair transition can be achieved.

This qualitative research explores Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices within the e-commerce fashion industry, aiming to uncover key strategies and their impacts. Through semi-structured interviews with supply chain managers, procurement officers, and supplier representatives, critical themes emerged: communication, trust, risk management, sustainability, and digital technologies. Effective communication, characterized by transparency and regular updates, emerged as pivotal for aligning expectations and resolving issues promptly. Trust-building practices, including fair dealings and formal agreements, were essential in fostering long-term partnerships, reducing transaction costs, and enhancing collaboration. Robust risk management strategies, such as supplier diversification and contingency planning, were identified as crucial for mitigating disruptions and ensuring supply chain resilience. Sustainability was highlighted as a strategic imperative, driven by ethical sourcing and environmental standards, supported by technologies like blockchain for transparency. The transformative role of digital technologies—supply chain management software, blockchain, IoT, and data analytics—was evident in enhancing visibility and decision-making across global supply chains. Viewing suppliers as strategic partners, rather than mere vendors, promoted collaborative innovation and mutual growth. Despite challenges like cultural differences and regulatory complexities, opportunities exist to enhance SRM through integrated best practices. By prioritizing effective communication, trust-building, risk management, sustainability, and digital innovation, companies can strengthen supplier relationships, optimize supply chain performance, and achieve competitive advantage in the e-commerce fashion sector.

During the last decade, smart materials have increasingly impacted on several niches, among which that of one-off/limited edition experimental fashion. Thanks to their performativity, due to the implementation of Smart Materials Systems, they have reached indeed catwalks as well as museums and galleries. As boundaries between what-is-art and what traditionally was not supposed to be art are now turning into osmotic membranes, zooming on how smart materials are highly contributing to outline the new creative landscape can provide with interesting and compelling issues. Introducing three different areas of experimental fashion, named Multi-sensory dresses, Empathic dresses, and Bio-smart dresses and accessories, respectively covering the world of in-Lab experiments and design collaborations in relation to the application of advanced smart materials systems, the article discuss some of the implications in term of Design Thinking and Design Aesthetics.

The fast fashion industry has a significant impact on the environment at every stage of the product life cycle. There is a lack of research in the literature on the impact of fast fashion on the environment through logistics and transport. In this area, the greatest environmental impact is caused by air emissions, which is very important from the point of view of climate change. Therefore, this article deals with the analysis of the carbon footprint resulting from the fast fashion logistics process. The identification and assessment of fast fashion companies' sustainability efforts in the area of transport-related emissions and sustainable transformation strategies was conducted using a case study method for selected brands (H&M Group; Inditex, Shein). The study uses secondary data available in non-financial reports from 2023. After analyzing the data and content in non-financial reports on transport-related emissions, sev-eral important conclusions emerge. As a dominant practice, companies emphasize their reliance on external frameworks and standards, in particular the Global Reporting Initiative and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. Companies prioritize reducing emissions from significant factors, such as production processes. The data disclosed in the reports (scope 1, 2, 3) are not clearly formulated, but they can be used to calculate the level of CO2 emission reduction/increase. The ar-ticle contains recommendations for companies to improve their reporting by including additional indicators expressing the efficiency of transport-related emissions.
