The retrieval of tree height percentiles with satellite lidar waveforms over the mountainous ar-eas is greatly challenged due to slanted and rugged topographic relief of underlying ground. A novel algorithm is proposed to extract the height percentiles based on the target response waveform (TRW) that is resolved by using a Richardson–Lucy deconvolution algorithm with an adaptive iterative time. The height metrics of the energy percentiles of 25%, 50%, 75% and 95% for the cumulative TRW distribution are determined by their vertical distances relative to the ground elevation in this study. To validate the proposed algorithm, we select the received waveforms of the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) lidar over the Pahvant Mountains of central Utah, USA. The results reveal that the resolved TRWs resemble closely to the actual target response waveforms from the coincident airborne lidar data, with the mean values of the coefficient of correlation, total bias and root mean square error (RMSE) taking val-ue of 0.92, 0.0813 and 0.0016. In addition, the accuracies of the derived height percentiles from the proposed algorithm have been greatly improved compared with the conventional Gaussian de-composition method and the slope-adaptive waveform metrics method. The RMSE values de-crease by the mean values of 1.96 m and 2.72 m, respectively. It demonstrates that the proposed algorithm has good potential in the extraction of forest structure parameter over rugged moun-tainous areas.

With the rapid development of earth observation, satellite navigation, mobile communication and other technologies, the order of magnitude of the spatial data we acquire and accumulate is increasing, and higher requirements are put forward for the application and storage of spatial data. Under this circumstance, a new form of spatial data organization emerged-the global discrete grid. This form of data management can be used for the efficient storage and application of large-scale global spatial data, which is a digital multi-resolution the geo-reference model that helps to establish a new model of data association and fusion. It is expected to make up for the shortcomings in the organization, processing and application of current spatial data. There are different types of grid system according to the grid division form, including global discrete grids with equal latitude and longitude, global discrete grids with variable latitude and longitude, and global discrete grids based on regular polyhedrons. However, there is no accuracy evaluation index system for remote sensing images expressed on the global discrete grid to solve this problem. This paper is dedicated to finding a suitable way to express remote sensing data on discrete grids, and establishing a suitable accuracy evaluation system for modeling remote sensing data based on hexagonal grids to evaluate modeling accuracy. The results show that this accuracy evaluation method can evaluate and analyze remote sensing data based on hexagonal grids from multiple levels, and the comprehensive similarity coefficient of the images before and after conversion is greater than 98%, which further proves that the availability hexagonal grid-based remote sensing data of remote sensing images. And among the three sampling methods, the image obtained by the nearest interpolation sampling method has the highest correlation with the original image.

Snakes are a vital component of wildlife resources and are widely distributed across the globe. Bungarus multicinctus, a highly venomous snake, is found in central and southern China. B. multicinctus is a highly venomous snake and is distributed in central and southern China. Snakes are an ancient group of reptiles, and their genome resources can provide important clues for understanding the evolutionary history of reptiles. Meanwhile, genomic resources play a crucial role in comprehending the evolution of species. So far, the genomic resources of snakes are a rarity. In 2021, a snake sample was collected from Beiliu Longgukeng, Guangxi, which was identified as B. multicinctus through morphological identification. In this study, we present a highly contiguous genome of B. multicinctus with a size of 1.51 Gb. The genome contains a repeat content of 40.15%, with a total length exceeding 620 Mb. Additionally, we annotated a total of 24,869 functional genes. This research is of great significance for comprehending the evolution of B. multicinctus and provides a genomic basis for the genes involved in venom gland function.

The present work investigates primarily the morphology evolution of the body-centered-cubic (BCC)/B2 phases in AlxNiCoFeCr high-entropy alloys (HEAs) with increasing Al content, which has been neglected so far. There exist two types of microscopic morphologies of BCC and B2 phases in this HEA series: one is the weave-like morphology induced by the spinodal decomposition, and the other is the microstructure of a spherical disordered BCC precipitation on the ordered B2 matrix that appears in HEAs with a much higher Al content. The shape of coherent precipitates is found to be closely related to the lattice misfit between BCC and B2 phases, which is sensitive to Al. The mechanical properties, including the compressive yielding strength and microhardness of the AlxNiCoFeCr HEAs, are also discussed in light of the concept of the valence electron concentration (VEC).
