This paper introduces the first version of the QBIT theory of consciousness which is based on inspirations and insights from Quantum mechanics, Biology, Information theory, and Thermodynamics. The ultimate goal of the QBIT theory is to find scientifically correct answers to the following four questions: What is the nature of qualia? How are qualia generated? Why are qualia subjective? Why does a quale have a particular meaning?The theory, in its first version, proposes tentative answers to these four fundamental questions about consciousness. According to the QBIT theory qualia are quantum information encoded in maximally entangled pure states. Qualia are generated when robustness of quantum information exceeds a certain threshold. Qualia are subjective because maximally entangled pure states are not shareable. The quality or meaning of a particular quale is determined by its associated internal model.

The QBIT theory is an attempt toward solving the problem of consciousness in the light of Quantum mechanics, Biology, Information theory, and Thermodynamics. “Internal representation” is a key concept in the QBIT theory of consciousness. An internal representation is defined as a pack of information (within a cognitive system) that represents an external stimulus.The QBIT theory suggests that when robustness of an internal representation exceeds a certain threshold, a conscious experience (or a quale) is generated. In this paper, the concept of internal representation and its relation with consciousness is explored.

This paper presents the development, comparison and analysis of several implementations of the B92 Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocol. In order to achieve this objective a prototype which consists of traditional (non-quantum) simulators was created, one for B92 protocol, one for B92 protocol with eavesdropper and one for B92 protocol with Quantum Bit Travel Time (QBTT) eavesdropper detection method. The principles of quantum mechanics were studied, as a foundation of quantum cryptography, for the realization of simulation programs that were written in C ++, focusing mainly on the B92 protocol and QBTT eavesdropper detection method. We compared the Quantum Bit Error Rate (QBER) for implementation of B92 protocol without eavesdropper, B92 protocol with eavesdropper and B92 protocol with QBTT eavesdropper detection method and found that QBTT eavesdropper detection method significantly reduces the QBER from the final key.
