Short-circuit blowing is an important technical means to ensure the rapid surfacing of submersible. In order to study the impact of seven multiple manipulation factors of three levels on blowing, a proportional short-circuit blowing model test bench had been built and L18(37) orthogonal experiments were carried out; then, using Back propagation neural network and Pearson correlation analysis, the experimental data were trained and predicted, correlation between individual factor and blowing was further studied as supplement of orthogonal experiments. It had been proved that both multi-factor combination and individual including blowing duration, sea tank back pressure, the gas blowing pressure of the cylinder group, and sea valve flowing area had larger influence, whose correlation coefficients were 0.6535, 0.8105, 0.5569, 0.5373, of which the F-ratio of blowing duration is over critical value 3.24. And statistical evaluation indicators of Back propagation neural network were between 10e-2 and 10e-13, relative error was less than 3%, and prediction error accuracy was 100%. Based on the results above, a reasonable prediction method for submersible short-circuit blowing had been formed and suggestions on engineering design and operations were proposed, including advantage of short-circuit blowing method, initial condition settings and manipulation strategy.

Workers involved in scaffolding erection and dismantling activities are exposed to various physical risk factors. However, no existing study indicates that awkward working postures in scaffolding activities lead to musculoskeletal system disorders (MSDs). This study explores the ergonomic risks intrinsic to scaffolding tasks in refinery construction using the Ovako Working Posture Analysing System (OWAS).In the refinery, the utilized scaffolding encompasses an area of 319674 square meters and a volumetric extent of 603294 cubic meters. Observations were conducted on the postures of 500 scaffolding group workers across 5210 locations within the site, culminating in capturing 2000 photographic records. The mass of each scaffolding component was meticulously determined. After three months of observation, medical records were consulted for further insights. A statistical analysis employing the Pearson correlation technique was conducted to scrutinize the relationship between the ages of the scaffolding workers and the incidence of MSDs, alongside patterns of absenteeism. This analysis elucidated a robust and statistically significant correlation between the age of the workers and the prevalence of MSD associated with their occupational activities.As a result of the results of the OWAS ergonomic risk assessment, a number of regulatory changes were made to the scaffolding workforce, and then medical records were looked over again. This re-evaluation revealed a marked reduction in MSDs. The OWAS method's reliance on simple observational techniques holds substantial merit for its application within construction environments. Our research underscores the exposure of workers engaged in scaffolding tasks within continuous projects, such as refinery construction, to substantial ergonomic risks.

In social & health sciences, many statistical procedures and estimation techniques rely on the underlying distributional assumption of normality of the data. Non-normality may lead to incorrect statistical inferences. This study evaluates the performance of selected normality tests on the stringency framework for the skewed alternative space. Stringency concept allows us to rank the tests uniquely. Bonett & Seier test (T_w) turns out to be the best statistics for slightly skewed alternatives and the Anderson-Darling (AD), Chen-Shapiro (CS), Shapiro-Wilk (W) and Bispo, Marques, & Pestana, (BCMR) statistics are the best choices for moderately skewed alternative distributions. Maximum loss of Jarque-Bera (JB) and its robust form (RJB), in terms of deviations from the power envelope, is greater than 50% even for large sample sizes which makes them less attractive in testing the hypothesis of normality against the moderately skewed alternatives. On balance, all selected normality tests except T_w and COIN performed exceptionally well against the highly skewed alternative space.

In this study, the analysis of metals in the solubilized extract of the organic fraction of Urban Solid Waste (MSW) from the municipality of Belém do Pará was carried out. The waste used in this research was collected in residential areas, through door-to-door collection, with the points and neighbor-hoods served in the municipality of Belém determined by the sectorization of these locations, with family income as the main parameter. The MSW was collected and transported to the segregation area. Gravimetric analysis of MSW was carried out and the selected organic and paper fractions were subjected to drying, crushing and sieving pre-treatment. Next, the solubilized extract of the organic fraction of MSW was obtained, following the method set out in NBR nº 10.006/2004 of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards. The values obtained were compared with CONAMA Resolutions nº 357/2005, 396/2008 and 430/2011, in addition to being compared with results of bibliographical research. The results indicated that these wastes do not comply with environmental and health regulations. Although a highly significant association was found between chromium and boron through Pearson's correlation, the remaining strong correlations between other elements did not reach statistical significance. Furthermore, a similarity was observed in the solubilization conditions of these wastes with those found in landfill leachate.

This study tries to focusing on applying information communication technology for economic importance of Mid Oil Company (MDOC), which is among contemporary oil companies in Iraq. Since ICT forms a significant aspect of achieving organizational economic objectives, most of public and private bodies seek to utilize ICT tool and techniques to improve work efficiencies. The emerging growth in ICT has made it process and service automation possible in managing organizational activities. To determine this effect of ICT on organizations, this study formulated statistical research model at MDOC through using fifteen questionnaires, which were distributed on three axes. The outcome of the questionnaire analysis revealed that there is inadequate comprehensive infrastructure to suitably support ICT within the selected organization management. In addition, it revealed that there are no ideal standards to maintain and sustain internet networks. Based on these revelations, the study presents recommendation for the adoption of ICT with the aim of minimizing cost, enhancing communication and managing infrastructure. Also recommends the need to support IT department within an organization, with essential equipment, in terms of man and machine, for better efficiency to employ the key of ICT Impact in Iraqi governmental oil companies.

Cytokine and AMH profiling were done in prepubertal Murrah buffalo heifers post-progesterone supplementation and co-synchronization protocol. Cytokines: IFNγ, IL6, IL1, IL13, TNFα, and TGFβ, and, AMH, Progesterone and Estrogen hormone estimations were done. Ovarian follicular pattern and fertility outcome were recorded. Eighteen prepubertal heifers, 15-17 months of age, 250-300 kg BWt were randomly divided into 3 groups, Group1: n=6, supplemented with altrenogest 0.044mg/kg/day/heifer orally for 14 days along with Co-synch programme; Group2: n=6, administered CIDR for 14 days and co-synch programme, Group3: n=6, received co-synch programme. Ultrasonography was done to ovarian follicle status on respective days of sampling. Pregnancy diagnosis was done around 45 and 60 post-AI. Estradiol 17-β level remained constant in altrenogest group, CIDR implanted and Control groups during the Progesterone treatment and Co-synch treatment. Estradiol levels during Co-synch were significantly less on day 9 of Co-synch (14.41 ± 1.97 pg/mL) than day 0 and on day7 in pre pubertal buffalo heifers in altrenogest group. However, no significance was observed in other groups. Progesterone levels in buffalo heifers subjected to synchronisation protocols varied significantly (P< 0.05) on day 7 of P4 treatment between altrenogest supplemented and CIDR implanted groups, as well as, Co-synch groups. Supplementation of altrenogest showed a significant (P= 0.043) increase in Progesterone levels by day 14 of altrenogest treatment. Progesterone varied significantly in all Groups on day 9 of co synch protocol [ Group 1 (P= 0.02), Group 2 (P= 0.041) and Group 3 (P= 0.007)]. Cytokine IFN-γ showed high correlation with progesterone, indicating the role of IFN-γ in puberty in buffalo heifers (r= 0.626, P< 0.01). AMH had a significant positive correlation supplemented with altrenogest with IFN-γ (r= 0.673, P< 0.01) and TGF-β (r= 0.463, P< 0.01), whereas, with TNF-α it was a negatively correlated (r= -0.34, P< 0.05). Based on Karl Pearson correlation coefficients, IL-13 and TGF-β could be considered as markers for puberty in buffalo heifers.

Data regarding the pandemic's impact on tilapia culture remain limited, but it is known that there was a significant decline in production and marketing since 2020. The post-pandemic challenges confronting tilapia farming necessitate prompt solutions, encompassing the management of bacterial infections and the adoption of more advanced technologies by small-scale producers in developing nations. Probiotics, acknowledged as a viable alternative, are presently extensively employed in tilapia aquaculture. Multiple studies have suggested that the application of diverse probiotics in tilapia culture has yielded favorable outcomes. Nonetheless, only a limited number of studies have employed statistical methods to evaluate such findings. To address this gap, a regression analysis was carried out to investigate the existence of a linear relationship between the probiotic dosage added to the feed and two key dependent variables: the specific growth rate (SGR) and the feed conversion ratio (FCR). Additionally, a hierarchical regression analysis was undertaken to ascertain the extent to which the variance observed in these responses could be explained by the variable "probiotic dosage in feed," after accounting for covariates such as initial weight, test duration, water temperature, and number of replicate tanks. Finally, two Pearson correlation matrices were constructed since different studies were included for the SGR and FCR analyses.

Control charts have been widely used for monitoring process quality in manufacturing and play an important role in triggering a signal in time when detecting a change in process quality. Many control charts in literature assume that the in-control distribution of the univariate or multivariate process data is continuous and not categorical. This research develops two exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) proportion control charts for monitoring a process with multinomial proportions when considering both large and small sample sizes. For a large sample size , the charting statistic depends on the well-known Pearson χ2 statistic, and the control limit of the EWMA proportion chart is determined by an asymptotical chi-square distribution. For a small sample size, we derive the exact mean and variance of the Pearson χ2 statistic. Hence, the exact EWMA proportion chart is determined. The proportion chart can also be applied to monitor the distribution-free continuous multivariate process as long as each categorical proportion associated with specification limits of each quality variable is known or estimated. Lastly, we investigate the detection performance of the proposed EWMA proportion chart by numerical analyses. Real data analysis demonstrates the beneficial application of the proposed EWMA proportion charts.

As major natural disasters in grassland areas, fires and dust events seriously threaten human safety, property, and animal husbandry. Furthermore, these phenomena may be mutually reinforcing, which can lead to more severe cascading disasters. However, few studies have been on the mechanisms of grassland fire and dust events disaster chain. Therefore, we selected Dornod aimag (province), a typical temperate grassland, as the study area and analyzed the spatiotemporal variation patterns of grassland fires and dust weather, as well as the effect of grassland fires on dust weather based on MCD64A1 Burnt Area data and SYNOP dust data. The mechanism of grassland fires on dust weather was further investigated using the MOD13A3 vegetation index product and ERA5 wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation data. The results revealed that grassland fires and dust weather varied spatially across the study area. Furthermore, grassland fires occurred mainly in spring (April to May), summer (June), and autumn (October), while dust weather mainly occurred in spring (March to May). Moreover, autumn, winter, and spring cumulative grassland fires (both days and area) substantially affected the spring total dust weather days and dust storm days, particularly the spring cumulative dust storm days. Additionally, higher precipitation in the summer of 2014 resulted in higher vegetation coverage and more fuel in the autumn and winter of 2014, and even in the spring of 2015. As a result, the cumulative grassland fire days was higher, and the area was larger from September 2014 to April 2015, leading to a considerable increase in the cumulative dust storm days in May 2015. This study has important implications for disaster prevention and mitigation, ecological and environmental protection, and sustainable development in grasslands.

Efforts to optimize the design and enhance the efficiency of standing-wave thermoacoustic refrigerators (SWTAR), particularly those with parallel plate stacks, are crucial for achieving rapid and straightforward engineering estimates. This study primarily focuses on optimizing the Coefficient of Performance (COP) by combining the linear thermoacoustic theory (LTT) with the Design of Experiments (DOE) approach. The investigation centers around five key parameters affecting the COP, once the working gas is selected. Then, based on the LLT theory, the COP was estimated numerically, over defined intervals of those five parameters. Moreover, through quantitative and qualitative effect analyses, these five parameters and their interactions are determined. Utilizing a transfer function and surface response analyses based on the COP, the study aims to delineate the best COP value as well as the contribution of the thermoacoustic parameters and their interactions. Furthermore, a comparison between contour and surface responses and several statistical decision approaches applying the Full Factorial Design verify the robustness of the study’s findings. Ultimately, the COP results obtained align with existing literature, underscoring the validity and relevance of the study’s methodologies and conclusions.

An empirical investigation was carried out to study the relationship between the soil characteristics, including the Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), potential of Hydrogen (pH), Electrical conductivity (EC), Sulfur (S,), Zinc (Zn), Iron (Fe), Copper (Cu), Manganese (Mn) and Boron (B) using principal component analysis (PCA), Factor Analysis (FA), and Canonical Correlation analysis (CCA) for data reduction multivariate techniques. The first five main components accounted for 24.22%, 18.52%, 16.1%, 9.97%, and 9.27% of sample variances, respectively. All five principal components (PCs) accounted for 78.07% of the sample variance. The soil characteristics viz., P and K have highly dominated the first PC; the soil characteristics N and pH have dominated the second PC; K, EC, and Cu have dominated the third PC; Fe, Mn, and pH have dominated in the fourth PC; whereas the parameter Cu dominated the fifth PC. The first factor showed a strong negative loading on S and a strong favorable loading on Cu; P, K, and EC have substantial positive loadings in the second factor. Significant positive loadings on Mn, Fe, Cu, pH, N, and K are present in the third component. The fourth factor had a significantly positive pH, Fe, N, P, K, and B loadings. Fe, P, and B have much weight in the fifth factor. The soil characteristics viz., N, Zn, pH, K, Fe, and Mn have dominated the first PC; the soil characteristics B, P, S, Zn, and Fe have dominated the second PC; B and P have dominated the third PC whereas the only character Cu dominated the fourth PC. Cu and OC have much weight in the fourth factor. The canonical redundancies for dependent and independent sets are 12% and 17%, respectively. The Stewart-Love canonical redundancy index is 70.58%, which means that the first linear combination of the X-set explains 70.58% of the total variance in the Y-set.

Information overload is the biggest challenges nowadays for any website, especially the e-commerce website. However, this challenge arises for the fast growth of information on the web (WWW) with easy access to the internet. Collaborative filtering based recommender system is the most useful application to solve the information overload problem by filtering relevant information for the users according to their interests. But, the existing system faces some significant limitations like as data sparsity, low accuracy, cold-start and malicious attacks. To alleviate the mentioned issues, the relationship of trust incorporates in the system where it can be between the users or items, and such system is known as the trust-based recommender system (TBRS). From the user perspective, the motive of the TBRS is to utilize the reliability between the users to generate more accurate and trusted recommendations. However, the aim of the paper is to present a comparative analysis of different trust metrics in the context of the type of trust definition of TBRS. Also, the study accomplishes on twenty-four trust metrics in terms of the methodology, trust properties &amp; measurement, validation approaches, and the experimented dataset.

The purpose of the present study is to explore the linkage between Hazardous Road Locations-based crash counts and a variety of geometric characteristics, roadway characteristics, traffic flow characteristics and spatial features in the region of Sousse, Tunisia. For this purpose, collision data was collected from at 52 hazardous road sections including 1397 crash records for a 11-year monitoring period from January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2014 obtained from National Observatory for Information, Training, Documentation and Studies on Road Safety in Tunisia (NOITDRS). The matrix of Pearson correlation was used in order to avoid inclusion of both variables, which were highly correlated. Both the Random Effects Negative Binomial model and the Negative Binomial model were estimated. To evaluate the models, the Random Effect Negative Binomial model improves the goodness-of-fit compared to the Negative Binomial model. Average Daily Traffic volume, Curved alignment, Presence of public lighting, Visibility, Number of lane, Presence of vertical/horizontal sign, Presence of rural segment, Presence of drainage system, Roadway surface condition, Presence of paved shoulder and presence of major road were found as significant variables influencing accident occurrences. Overall, the current research contributes to the literature from empirical, modeling methodological standpoints since it was the first study conducted in Tunisia to use crash prediction models for hazardous road locations, and that portrays Tunisian reality. The research findings present advantageous insights on hazardous road locations in the region of Sousse, Tunisia and present useful planning tools for public authorities in Tunisia.

Switched-mode power supplies (SMPS) often utilize electrolytic capacitors due to their substantial energy density and economical pricing. However, their ability to function at low temperatures is essential for dependable operation in several sectors, including telecommunications, automotive, and aerospace. This study includes an experimental evaluation of how well standard SMPS electrolytic capacitors operate at low temperatures. This paper investigates the suitability of standard electrolytic capacitors used in switched-mode power supplies (SMPS) for low-temperature applications. The experimental evaluation exposed the capacitors to temperatures ranging from - 5 ∘C to - 40 ∘C, assessing capacitance (Cp), impedance (Z), dissipation factor (DF), and equivalent series resistance (ESR) at each temperature. The capacitor’s time-domain electrical signals were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient to extract discriminative features. These features were input into an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for training and testing. Results indicated a significant impact of low temperatures on capacitor performance. Capacitance decreased with lower temperatures, while ESR and leakage current increased, affecting stability and efficiency. Impedance proved to be a valuable diagnostic tool for identifying potential capacitor failure, showing a 98.44% accuracy drop at - 5 degrees and 88.75% at the peak temperature, indicating proximity to the manufacturer’s specified limit. The study suggests further research and development to improve electrolytic capacitors’ performance in SMPS systems under cold conditions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

The analysis of aggregate data has received increasing attention in the statistical discipline over the past 20 years. Much of this attention has been focused on estimating the cells frequencies of a 2×2 contingency table given only the marginal totals; the analyses proposed have been received with missed reviews. More recently, the focus has shifted toward analysing the overall association structure rather than on the estimation of the cell frequencies. This article provides some insight int how informative the aggregate data of a single 2×2 contingency table is for assessing the association. The information contained in the margins of the table is quantified using the squared deviation of the expected cell frequencies over the possible range of values, where the row and column totals are known and fixed. The new measure we discuss to quantify this association is referred to as the aggregate informative index (AII) and is shown to be the standardized area under the squared deviation curve.

Heart disease is a global health concern of paramount importance, causing a significant number of fatalities and disabilities. Precise and timely diagnosis of heart disease is pivotal in pre-venting adverse outcomes and improving patient well-being, thereby creating a growing demand for intelligent approaches to predict heart disease effectively. This paper introduces an Ensemble Heuristic-Metaheuristic Feature Fusion Learning (EHMFFL) algorithm for heart disease diagnosis. Within the EHMFFL algorithm, a diverse ensemble learning model is crafted, featuring different feature subsets for each heterogeneous base learner, including support vector machine, K-nearest neighbors, logistic regression, random forest, naive bayes, decision tree, and XGBoost. The primary objective is to identify the most pertinent features for each base learner, leveraging a combined heuristic-metaheuristic approach that integrates the heuristic knowledge of Pearson correlation coefficient with the metaheuristic-driven grey wolf optimizer. The second objective is to aggregate the decision outcomes of the various base learners through ensemble learning, aimed at constructing a robust prediction model. The performance of the EHMFFL algorithm is rigorously assessed using the Cleveland and Statlog datasets yielding remarkable results with an accuracy of 91.8% and 88.9%, respectively, surpassing state-of-the-art machine learning, ensemble learning, and feature selection techniques in heart disease diagnosis. These findings underscore the potential of the EHMFFL algorithm in enhancing diagnostic accuracy for heart disease and providing valuable support to clinicians in making more informed decisions regarding patient care.

We introduce the lower chaos grade of a real-valued function F defined on the Markov triple (E,μ,Γ), where μ is a probability measure and Γ is the carré du champ operator. As an application of this concept, we obtain the better estimate of the four moments theorem for Markov diffusion generators worked by Bourguin et al (2019). For our purpose, we need to find the largest number except zero in the set of eigenvalues corresponding to its eigenfunction in the case where the square of a random variable F, coming from a Markov triple structure, can be expressed as a sum of eigenfunctions, We give some examples of eigenfunctions of the diffusion generators such as Ornstein-Uhlenbeck, Jacobi and Romanovski-Routh. In particular, two bounds, called the four moments theorem and fourth moment theorem respectively, will be provided for the normal approximation of the case where a random variable F comes from eigenfunctions of a Jacobi generator.

Complex modeling has received significant attention in recent years and is increasingly used to explain the statistical phenomenon with increasing and decreasing fluctuations such as the similarity or difference of spike protein charge patterns of coronaviruses. Different from the existing covariance or correlation coefficient methods in traditional integer dimension construction, this study proposes a simplified novel fractional dimension derivation with the exact Excel tool algorithm. It involves the fractional center moment extension to covariance, which ends up a complex covariance coefficient that is better than the Pearson correlation coefficient, in the sense that the nonlinearity relationship can be further depicted. The spike protein sequences of coronaviruses were obtained from the GenBank and GISAID database, including the coronaviruses from pangolin, bat, canine, swine (three variants), feline, tiger, SARS-CoV-1, MERS, and SARS-CoV-2 (including the strains of Wuhan, Beijing, New York, German, and UK variant B.1.1.7) were used as the representative examples in this study. By examining the values above and below the average/mean based on the positive and negative charge patterns of the amino acid residues of the spike proteins from coronaviruses, the proposed algorithm provides deep insights into the nonlinear evolving trends of spike proteins for understanding the viral evolution and identifying the protein characteristics associated with viral fatality. The calculation results demonstrate that the complex covariance coefficient analyzed by this algorithm is capable of distinguishing the subtle nonlinear differences in the spike protein charge patterns with reference to Wuhan strain SARS-CoV-2 for which the Pearson correlation coefficient may overlook. Our analysis reveals the unique convergent (positive correlative) to divergent (negative correlative) domain center positions of each virus. The convergent or conserved region may be critical to the viral stability or viability; while the divergent region is highly variable between coronaviruses suggesting high frequency of mutations in this region. The analyses show that the conserved center region of SARS-CoV-1 spike protein is located at amino acid residues 900, but shifted to the amino acid residues 700 in MERS spike protein, and then to amino acid residues 600 in SARS-COV-2 spike protein, indicating the evolvement of the coronaviruses. Interestingly, the conserved center region of the spike protein in SARS-COV-2 variant B.1.1.7 shifted back to amino acid residues 700, suggesting this variant is more virulent than the original SARS-COV-2 strain. Another important characteristic our study reveals is that the distance between the divergent mean and the maximal divergent point in each of the viruses (MERS>SARS-CoV-1>SARS-CoV-2) is proportional to viral fatality rate. This algorithm may help to understand and analyze the evolving trends and critical characteristics of SARS-COV-2 variants, other coronaviral proteins and viruses.

This article presents six probability distributions from the Gamma family with three parameters, for the flood frequency analysis in hydrology. The choice of the Gamma family of statistical dis-tributions was driven by its frequent use in hydrology. In the Faculty of Hydrotechnics, the im-provement of the estimation of maximum flows and including the methodological bases for the realization of a regionalization study with the linear moments method with the corrected pa-rameters was researched, being an element of novelty. The linear moments method is better than MOM because it avoids the choice of skewness depending on the origin of the flows, practiced in Romania. The L-moments method conforms to the current trend for estimating the parameters of statistical distributions. Observed data from hydrometric stations are of relatively short length, so the statistical parameters that characterize them are of a sample that requires correction. The correction of the statistical parameters is proposed, using the method of least squares based on the inverse functions of the statistical distributions expressed with the frequency factor for L-moments. All the necessary elements for their use are presented like, quantile functions, the exact and ap-proximate relations for estimating parameters and frequency factors. A flood frequency analysis case study was carried out for the Ialomita river, to verify the proposed methodology. The per-formance of this distributions is evaluated using Kiling-Gupta and Nash-Sutcliff coefficients.
