The Capon algorithm can be applied to reprocess SAR images, resulting in super-resolution super-resolution reconstructed scenes with lower sidelobe levels. Base on this idea, we have proposed a processing chain of Super-Resolution Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (SR-PSI), to increase PS density. In this paper, we review the main aspect of SR-PSI. We also propose a revised robust Capon algorithm. The result of real-life Sentinel-1 (S-1) data is shown.

Advanced-Differential Interferometric SAR (A-DInSAR) has been used to monitor surface deformations in open pit mines and tailings dams. In this paper, ground deformations have been detected on the area of the tailings Dam-I at the Córrego do Feijão Mine (Brumadinho, Brazil) before its catastrophic failure occurred on 25 January 2019. Two techniques optimized for different scattering models, SBAS (Small BAseline Subset) and PSI (Persistent Scatterer Interferometry), were used to perform the analysis based on 26 Sentinel-1B images in IW mode, acquired on descending orbits from 03 March 2018 to 22 January 2019. A WorldDEM DSM product was used to remove the topographic phase component. The results provided by both techniques showed a synoptic and informative view of the deformation process affecting the study area, with a detection of persistent trend of deformations on the top, middle and bottom sectors of the dam face until its collapse, as well as the expected natural settlements on the tailings. It is worth noting the detection of an acceleration in the displacement time-series for a short period near the failure. The maximum accumulated displacements detected along the downstream slope face were -39 mm (SBAS) and -48 mm (PSI). It is reasonable to consider that Sentinel-1 would provide decision makers complementary motion information to the in-situ monitoring system for risk assessment and for a better understanding of on-going instability phenomena affecting the tailings dam.

This study presents an analysis of subsidence rates and their effects on Mexico City. Mexico City is well known for its subsidence as a result of excess water withdrawal for many years. This study focuses on this problem utilizing the integration of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR), Continuous Global Positioning Systems (CGPS), and optical remote sensing data. Fifty-two ENVISAT-ASAR, nine GPS stations, and one Landsat ETM+ image from Mexico City area have been analyzed to prepare a better understanding of the subsidence rates and its effects on Mexico City’s commune. This study has utilized InSAR methods. It includes differential interferometry and Persistent Scatter Interferometry (PSI) to monitor the existing subsidence in the Mexico City area. The InSAR data covers the temporal baseline between 2002 until June 2010, and the GPS data include temporal baseline from 1998 until 2012. Maximum of 352 mm annually change in Line Of Sight (LOS) direction is in agreement with the previous geodetic studies. InSAR data have been compared with CGPS data at the same time interval. The finding of this study reveals a high amount of correlation (up to 0.98) between two independent geodetic methods. We also implemented the Support Vector Machine (SVM) analysis method based on Landsat ETM+ image to classify Mexico City’s populated density area. This method performed comparing the subsidence rates with populated area buildings. This integrated study shows that the fastest subsidence zone (i.e., areas greater than 100 mm/yr) in the over mentioned temporal baseline occurs in the high and sparsely populated areas

Orbital fractures are a common finding in facial trauma and serious complications may arise when orbital reconstruction is not done properly. The virtual planning can be used to manufacture patient-specific titanium orbital implants (PSI) through the process of selective laser melting. This method is currently considered the most accurate technique for orbital reconstruction. Even with the most accurate tehniques of bone reconstruction, there are still situations where enophthalmos is present after reconstruction which may be produced by intraorbital soft tissue atrophy. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the orbital soft tissue after postraumatic reconstruction of the orbital walls fractures. 10 patients diagnosed with unilateral orbital fractures were included in this study. A CT scan of the head region with thin slices (0.6mm) and soft and bone tissue windows was done. After data processing, the STL files were exported and the intraorbital fat tissue volume and the muscular tissue volume were masured. The volumes of affected orbit tissues were compared with the volumes of the healthy orbit tissues for each patient. Our findings conclude that a higher or a lower grade of fat and muscular tissue loss is present in all cases of reconstructed orbital fractures.

Abstract: In the last five years, the urban development of Limassol City has rapidly increased in the sectors of industry, trade, real estate, and many others. This exponentially increased urban development introduces several concerns about the aggravation of the land subsidence in the Limassol coastal front. Fifty Copernicus Sentinel-1 data from 2017-2021 have been processed and analyzed using the Sentinel Application Platform (SNAP) and the Stanford Method for Persistent Scatters (StaMPS). A case study for the identification and analysis of the elements (PS) in pixels in a series of interferograms, and then, the quantity of the land displacements in the Line of Sight, in the Limassol coastal front, is presented in this research, with the subsidence rates up to about (-5 to 4 mm / year). For the validation of the detected deformation, accurate ground-based geodetic measurements along the coastal area were used. Concordantly, taking into account that there are a significant number of skyscrapers planned to be built, this study attempts a preliminary assessment of the impact these structures will pose on the coastal front of the area of Limassol.

During HIV-1 virus assembly the genomic RNA (vRNA) is selected for packaging by the viral protein Gag because it contains a specific packaging signal, Psi. While there have been numerous studies of Gag-Psi interactions, there is almost no information on kinetic aspects of this interaction. We have investigated the kinetics of Gag binding to different RNAs using switchSENSE DRX2 technology. We measured the association rate of Gag binding to monomeric Psi, to a “Multiple Binding Site Mutant” Psi that is inactive for genome packaging in vivo, and to a scrambled Psi. We discovered that Gag binds more rapidly to Psi RNA than to the mutant or scrambled RNAs. Furthermore, rapid Gag association kinetics are retained within sub-regions of Psi: Gag associates more rapidly with RNA containing only the 3’ two of the three Psi stem-loops than with monomeric RNA containing the 5’ two stem-loops or a scrambled RNA. No differences were detectable with individual Psi stem-loops. Interestingly, the rate of binding of Gag molecules to Psi increases with increasing Gag concentration, suggesting cooperativity in binding. The results are consistent with the hypothesis that selectivity in packaging derives from kinetic differences in initiation of particle assembly.

In this paper, we prove the existence of three solutions for a $p$-Kirchhoff problem with $\psi$-Hilfer fractional derivative. To be more precise, we use the variational method and we prove that the associated functional energy admits a critical point in each of the three constructed sets, these critical points are weak solutions for a studied problem. Moreover, by definition of these sets, one of these solutions is positive, the second is negative, and the third one change sign. At the end of this work, we present an example to validate our main results.

The paper presents the results of the study of tungsten surface structure modification under helium plasma irradiation. It is revealed that during irradiation of samples, surface modification in the form of relief development as a result of irradiation is observed. X-ray phase analysis showed that no new phases of the W system were found after irradiation, only an increase in the intensity of diffraction lines was observed. There are significant differences in the microstructure of tungsten depending on the temperature of helium plasma irradiation in the above range. It is assumed that the cause of defects is the extremely low solubility of helium in tungsten. Metallographic analysis has shown that at irradiation of tungsten samples in regime 5 and 6 the degree of relief development is not high in comparison with the tungsten sample irradiated in regime 4. The greatest increase in roughness of the sample irradiated in regime 5 was determined, which is associated with the formation of small cracks, blisters and pores in the surface layer. At the same time, in the samples irradiated in regime 6, the surface of which is characterized by chaotically located protrusions and depressions of various shapes, the roughness parameter Ra was 0.0603 µm. It was found that at temperature regimes T = 1200 °C and T = 1500 °C the microhardness of tungsten increases by 11% and 10% respectively.

Here are given tight probabilistic inequalities that provide nearly best estimates for the Csiszar's f-divergence. These use the right and left psi -Hilfer fractional derivatives of the directing function f. Csiszar's f- divergence or the so called Csiszar's discrimination is used as a measure of dependence between two random variables which is a very essential aspect of stochastics, we apply our results there. The Csiszar's discrimination is the most important and general measure for the comparison between two probability measures. We give also other applications.

The [PSI⁺] nonsense-suppressor determinant of Saccharomyces cerevisiae is related to formation of heritable amyloids of the Sup35 (eRF3) translation termination factor. [PSI⁺] amyloids have variants in amyloid structure and in the strength of suppressor phenotype. Appearance of [PSI⁺], its propagation and manifestation depend primarily on chaperones. Besides chaperones, the Upf1/2/3, Siw14 and Arg82 proteins restrict [PSI⁺] formation, while Sla2 can prevent the [PSI⁺] toxicity. Here, we identify two more non-chaperone proteins involved in [PSI⁺] detoxification. We show that simultaneous lack of the Pub1 and Upf1 proteins causes lethality of [PSI⁺] cells with a strong, but not with weak suppressor phenotype. This lethality results from excessive depletion of the Sup45 (eRF1) termination factor due to its sequestration into Sup35 polymers. We also show that Pub1 acts to restrict excessive Sup35 prion polymerization, while Upf1 interferes with Sup45 binding to Sup35 polymers. These data allow considering the Pub1 and Upf1 proteins as a novel [PSI⁺] detoxification system.

In this paper, we prove some random fixed point theorems for generalized random $\alpha-\psi-$contractive mappings in a Polish space and, as some applications, we show the existence of random solutions of second order random differential equation.

This article aims to explore the existence and stability of solutions to differential equations involving a regularized ψ−Hilfer fractional derivative, which, compared to standard ψ−Hilfer fractional derivatives, provide a clear physical interpretation when dealing with initial conditions. We discovered that the regularized ψ−Hilfer fractional derivative can be represented as the inverse operation of the ψ−Riemann–Liouville fractional integral, and used this property to prove the existence of solutions for linear differential equations with a regularized ψ−Hilfer fractional derivative. Additionally, we applied the Mönch’s fixed-point theorem and knowledge of non-compactness measures to demonstrate the existence of solutions for nonlinear differential equations with a regularized ψ−Hilfer fractional derivative, and further discussed Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability and semi-Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability of these solutions. Finally, we illustrated our results through case studies.

Solvent accessible surface area (SASA) of amino acid residues plays a significant role in inter-residue, protein-ligand, and protein-protein interactions. Affecting the exposure and interactions of hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions, driving protein folding. While previous SASA calculations are accurate with respect to the chosen parameters of simulation, they do not account for the dynamic behavior of peptides in solution under physiological conditions and cannot be used to compare populations within phi,psi dihedral angle space (phi,psi space). Molecular dynamics trajectories obtained at 310 K, 1 atm, and 150 mM NaCl for the Ac-Ala-Xaa-Ala-NH2 model peptides simulated using the CHARMM36m force field and TIP3Pm water as implemented in GROMACS 2022 were used to study SASA. The more balanced parametrization of CHARMM36m, resulted in increased sampling of beta region compared to alpha, alphaL, and epsilon regions were observed. There are statistically significant differences in SASA for the backbone and side chain comparing the beta, alpha, alphaL, epsilon and contiguous regions of phi,psi space. Differences occur in sampled phi,psi space particularly in the alphaL and epsilon regions of phi,psi space as a function of side chain size and chemical properties. The epsilon region of phi,psi space is not significantly sampled for multiple amino acids while the alphaL region is.

unlike the volume, the expression for the surface area of a regular conoid has not yet been obtained by means of direct integration or a differential geometry procedure. As this non-developable form is relatively used in engineering, the difficulty to determine its surface, represents a serious shortcoming for several problems which arise in radiative transfer, lighting and construction, to cite just a few. In order to solve the problem, I conceived the surface as a set of linearly dwindling ellipses which remain parallel to a circular directrix, a typical problem appears when searching the length of such ellipses. I employed a new procedure which, in principle, consists in dividing the surface into infinitesimal elliptic strips to which we have successively applied Ramanujan’s second approximation for the longitude of the ellipse. In this manner, we can obtain the perimeter of any transversal curve pertaining to the said form as a function of the radius of the directrix and the position of the ellipse’s center on the X-axis. Integrating the so-found perimeters of the differential strips for the whole span of the conoid, an unexpected solution emerges through the newly found number psi (ψ) which seems like a refined approximation to the third decimal of Pi but derived from a definite integral equation. As the strips are in truth slanted in the symmetry axis, their width is not uniform and we need to perform some adjustments in order to complete the problem with sufficient precision, but this is discussed separately in the annexes. Relevant implications for mathematical symmetry applied to multifarious architectural and engineering forms can be derived from this finding

We prove the several identities for $ _{p}^{a}\Gamma_{k}(x) $ and $ _{p}^{a}(x)_{n,k} $ those satisfied by the classical Gamma function.
