In previous works we have developed the concept of a relativistic engine taking into account the phenomena of retardation of electromagnetic fields. We have shown that Newton’n third law cannot strictly hold in a distributed system, where the different parts are at a finite distance from each other and thus force imbalance is created at the system’s center of mass. As the system is affected by a total force for a finite period, mechanical momentum and energy are acquired by the system. In previous works we relied on the fact that the bodies were macroscopically natural. Lately we relaxed this assumption and studied charged bodies, thus analyzing the consequences on a possible electric relativistic engine. On the first paper on this subject we investigated this phenomena in general but gave an example of a system only at the stage of reaching a stationary state, a second paper was devoted to the same but on the atomic scale, here we shall analyze the charge relativistic engine in a general time dependent setting.

The most important conclusion from this article is that from the General Theory of Relativity (GTR) do not result any gravitational waves, but just ordinary modulation of the gravitational field intensities caused by rotating of bodies. If the LIGO team has measured anything, it is only this modulation, rather than the gravitational wave understood as the carrier of gravity. This discussion shows that using too complicated mathematics in physics leads to erroneous interpretation of results (in this case, perhaps the tensor analysis is guilty). Formally, various things can be calculated, but without knowing what such analysis means, they can be attributed misinterpreted. Since the modulation of gravitational field intensities has been called a gravitational wave in contemporary physics, we have also done so, although it is misleading. In the article it was shown, that from the Newton’s law of gravitation resulted an existence of gravitational waves very similar to these, which result from the General Theory of Relativity. The article shows differences between the course of gravitational waves that result from Newton’s gravitation, and the course of gravitational waves that result from the General Theory of Relativity, which measurement was announced by the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) [1], [2], and [5]. According to both theories, gravitational waves are cyclical changes of the gravitational field intensities. The article proposes a method of testing a laser interferometer for gravitational wave measurement used in the LIGO Observatory. Criticism of results published by the LIGO team was also presented.

In the present paper, we introduced a quadratically convergent Newton’s like normal S2 iteration method free from the second derivative for the solution of nonlinear equations permitting 3 f'(x) = 0 at some points in the neighborhood of the root. Our proposed method works well 4 when the Newton method fails. Numerically it has been verified that the Newton’s like normal 5 S-iteration method converges faster than Fang et al. method [A cubically convergent Newton-type 6 method under weak conditions, J. Compute. and Appl. Math., 220 (2008), 409-412]. We studied 7 different aspects of normal S-iteration method. Lastly, fractal patterns support the numerical 8 results and explain the convergence, divergence, and stability of method.

The research presented in this paper concerns the determination of the attraction basins of the Newton’s iterative method which was used to solve the non-linear systems of observational equations associated with the geodetic measurements. The authors considered simple observation systems corresponding to the intersections, or linear and angular resections, used in practice. The main goal was to investigate the properties of the sets of convergent in the initial points of the applied iterative method. An important issue regarding the possibility of automatic and quick selection of such points was also considered. Therefore, the answers to the questions regarding the geometric structure of the basins, their limitations, connectedness or self-similarity were sought. The research also concerned the iterative structures of the basins, i.e. maps of the number of iterations which are necessary to achieve the convergence of the Newton’s method. The determined basins were compared with the areas of convergence that result from theorems on the convergence of the Newton’s method, i.e. the conditions imposed on the eigenvalues and norms of the matrices of the studied iterative systems. One of the essential results of the research is the indication that the obtained basins of attraction contain areas resulting from the theoretical premises and their diameters can be comparable with the sizes of the analyzed geodetic structures. Consequently, in the analyzed cases it is possible to construct methods that enable quick selection of the initial starting points or automation of such selection. The paper also characterizes the global convergence mechanism of the Newton’s method for disconnected basins and, as a consequence, the non-local initial points, i.e. located far from the solution points.

We work within a Winterberg framework where space, i.e., the vacuum, consists of a two component superfluid/super-solid made up of a vast assembly (sea) of positive and negative mass Planck particles, called planckions. These material particles interact indirectly, and have very strong restoring forces keeping them a finite distance apart from each other within their respective species. Because of their mass compensating effect, the vacuum appears massless, charge-less, without pressure, net energy density or entropy. In addition, we consider two variable models, where, , is Newton’s constant, and, , increases with an increase in cosmological time. We argue that there are at least two competing models for the quantum vacuum within such a framework. The first follows a strict extension of Winterberg’s model. This leads to nonsensible results, if increases, going back in cosmological time, as the length scale inherent in such a model will not scale properly. The second model introduces a different length scale, which does scale properly, but keeps the mass of the Planck particle as, the Planck mass. Moreover we establish a connection between ordinary matter, dark matter, and dark energy, where all three mass densities within the Friedman equation must be interpreted as residual vacuum energies, which only surface, once aggregate matter has formed, at relatively low temperatures. The symmetry of the vacuum will be shown to be broken, because of the different scaling laws, beginning with the formation of elementary particles. Much like waves on an ocean where positive and negative planckion mass densities effectively cancel each other out and form a zero vacuum energy density/ zero vacuum pressure surface, these positive mass densities are very small perturbations (anomalies) about the mean. This greatly alleviates, i.e., minimizes the cosmological constant problem, a long standing problem associated with the vacuum.
