Abstract: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) aims to achieve measles elimination by 2015. Since the beginning of elimination efforts in early 2000, there has not been a study tracking the national incidence over time. Thus, we described the distribution and incidence rates (IR) of measles in all 13 provinces of KSA from 2002 – 2012. This should give policymakers a clear picture about how to improve measles surveillance and accelerate elimination efforts. Using the national measles notification data reported to the Ministry of Health from 2002 through 2012 from all 13 provinces of KSA. Trends in annual measles IR stratified by age, gender, nationality, province, month, and immunization status in KSA were determined. There were 9,643 confirmed cases of measles reported in KSA from 2002 – 2012. Most were reported from Makkah (21.9%) and were among the age group 0 – 14 years of age. Madinah province showed a continuous IR increase from 2009. Baha province has been measles free since 2008. KSA could eliminate measles by 2015 by maintaining high vaccination coverage in the population and improving public health surveillance.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) established a National School-based Screening Program (NSBSP) for health screening of school-going children. Students from specific grades were systematically screened for several health problems including obesity, visual and auditory problems, dental cavities, scoliosis, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of these health problems among primary school students based on secondary data obtained from the NSBSP. We included 444,259 screened school children from the 1st and 4th grades of 50% of the selected schools (both private and public) across the KSA during the academic year 2018-2019. Among them, the most prevalent health problems identified were dental cavities (38.7%), eye refractory errors (10.9%), and overweight and obesity (10.5%); the less prevalent problems included ADHD (2.81%), auditory problems (0.6%), and scoliosis (0.48%). A greater prevalence of most health problems was observed in girls than boys. The NSBSP successfully aided the detection of health conditions with high and low prevalence among primary school students in the KSA, and thus, identification of health problems of specific concern. Implementation of effective school health services for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of these health problems is imperative.

Large companies have already begun to use it in most businesses, and it has helped direct some government procedures for joint e-government, which allows people to access government services from home from their computers. It is also not hidden that with the increase in computer use, electronic crimes increased, and this contributed to the formation of laws. In various countries to deal with them. As technology evolves, the sophistication and impact of these cyber threats continue to grow, posing significant challenges to cybersecurity. This research discusses the role against cybercrime, the regulations, and the allowable behavior of using technology in Saudi Arabia. It analyzes cybercrime in the Kingdom and the system for combating cybercrime.

In the present paper, we propose a wavelet method to study the impact of electronic media on economic situations. We precisely apply wavelet techniques versus classical methods to analyze economic indices in the market. The technique consists firstly in filtering the data from unprecise circumstances (noise) to construct next a wavelet denoised contingency table. Next, a thresholding procedure is applied to such a table to extract the essential information porters. The resulting tables subject finally to correspondence analysis before and after thresholding. As a case of study, we are empirically concerned with the 2030 KSA vision in electronic and social media. Effects of the electronic media texts about the trading 2030 Vision on the Saudi and global economy have been studied. Recall that the Saudi market is the most important representative market in the GCC continent. It has both regional and worldwide influence on economies and besides, it is characterized by many political, economic, and financial movements such as the worldwide economic NEOM project. The findings provided in the present paper may be applied to predict future GCC markets situation and thus may be a basis for investors’ decisions in such markets.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is known for its high car ownership and usage as well its high GDP per capita. This is combined with low/ or no provision of public transportation (PT) systems, has been resulting in perceptual attitudes of full dependency on private car travel. The level of awareness of the benefits of reducing car use and increasing the travel by more sustainable options, has a great impact on social change and behaviour. The Kingdom is currently progressing towards a new phase of “national transfer” through implementation of strategic and sustainable measures and programs. The city of Riyadh is construction a massive metro-system in Riyadh, that is nearing completion and operation. The public is aware of the national agenda, aware of the newly constructed projects and aware of the needed social change to realize the new vision of the country. This paper aims to assess travel behaviour and attitudes towards public transportation of Saudi travellers’ who are witnessing the new transformation in the Kingdom and who are aware of the new sustainable projects. Depicted from the theory of random utility, a discrete choice model of the intent to use public transportation is calibrated as a function of social and attitudinal factors. An online survey was designed and carried out using social media means; a completed 399 questionnaires have been obtained and studied. The methodology includes examining attitudes and preferences of the participants towards using public transportation options against participants’ socio-economic data. The analysis was carried out using ordinal logistic regression analysis (OLR) which is an efficient technique that is derived from the theory of random utility. The results show a good support for PT; a higher support for public transportation modes, form participants who are young females, lower income groups and the university graduates were reported. The level of support seems higher with the higher level of awareness about the new PT system.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) gained and will continue to gain a lot of global attention over the coming months (and maybe the coming few years). Since its outbreak in Wuhan (China), it has turned into one of the major challenges affecting the whole world. In a comparatively short time, the virus outbreak turned into a pandemic that led to massive negative impacts not only on people health and well-being, but also on the global economy, travel industry, pharmaceutical industry, tourism industry, and many other industries. This research paper aims to investigate the different effects of coronavirus on the global Halal tourism and Halal hospitality industry and whether the coronavirus pandemic is the end of Halal tourism and hospitality as we know it or not. The paper offers an in-depth theoretical examination of the different aspect of the pandemic on Halal tourism and hospitality industry and provides guidance on how to address these different aspects. The current paper is one of very few research papers addressing coronavirus on the tourism and hospitality industry.
