I introduce now for the first time the neutrosophic modal logic. The Neutrosophic Modal Logic includes the neutrosophic operators that express the modalities. It is an extension of neutrosophic predicate logic, and of neutrosophic propositional logic. New setting is introduced to study quasi-degree and quasi-co-degree arising from co-neighborhood. quasi-degree and quasi-co-degree is about a vertex which are applied into the setting of neutrosophic graphs. . The structure of set is studied and general results are obtained. Also, some classes of neutrosophic graphs namely path-neutrosophic graphs, cycle-neutrosophic graphs, complete-neutrosophic graphs and star-neutrosophic graphs, complete-bipartite-neutrosophic graphs and complete-multipartite-neutrosophic graphs are investigated in the terms of a vertex which is called either quasi-degree or quasi-co-degree. Neutrosophic number is reused in this way. It’s applied to use the type of neutrosophic number in the way that, three values of a vertex are used and they’ve same share to construct this number to compare with other vertices. Summation of three values of vertex makes one number and applying it to a comparison. This approach facilitates identifying vertices which form quasi-degree and quasi-co-degree. Quasi-degree is a value of a vertex which is maximum amid all values of vertices which are neighbors to a fixed vertex. Quasi-co-degree is a value of an edge which is maximum amid all values of edges which are neighbors to a fixed vertex but corresponded vertex is representative for this notion. Using different values which are related to a vertex inspire us to focus on edge and vertices which are corresponded to a fixed vertex. The notion of neighborhood is used to collect either vertices are titled neighbors or edges are incident to fixed vertex. In both settings, some classes of well-known neutrosophic graphs are studied. Some clarifications for each result and each definitions are provided. Using fixed vertex has key role to have these notions in the form of vertex or edge. The value of an edge has eligibility to call quasi-co-degree but the value of a vertex has eligibility to call quasi-degree. Some results get more frameworks and perspective about these definitions. The way in that, two vertices have connection together, open the way to define neighborhood and co-neighborhood. The maximum values in neighborhood and co-neighborhood introduces quasi-degree and quasi-co-degree, respectively. New name is chosen from degree. Since amid all vertices with different degrees, one vertex is chosen. In other words, one vertex is fixed and its degree turns out quasi-degree where two degrees could be assigned to a vertex. Degree of edges and degree of vertices. The number of edges which are incident to the vertex and the number of vertices which are neighbors to the vertex. Degree and co-degree are the notions which are transformed to use in quasi-style. Two neutrosophic values introduce two neutrosophic vertices separately in each settings. These notions are applied into neutrosophic graphs as individuals but not family of them as drawbacks for these notions. Finding special neutrosophic graphs which are well-known, is an open way to purse this study. Some problems are proposed to pursue this study. Basic familiarities with graph theory and neutrosophic graph theory are proposed for this article.

Many various using of this new-born fuzzy model for solving real-world problems and urgent requirements involve introducing new concept for analyzing the situations which leads to solve them by proper, quick and ecient method based on statistical data. This gap between the model and its solution cause that we introduce nikfar domination in neutrosophic graphs as creative and eective tool for studying a few selective vertices of this model instead of all ones by using special edges. Being special selection of these edges aect to achieve quick and proper solution to these problems. Domination hasn't ever been introduced. So we don't have any comparison with another denitions. The most used graphs which have properties of being complete, empty, bipartite, tree and like stu and they also achieve the names for themselves, are studied as fuzzy models for getting nikfar dominating set or at least becoming so close to it. We also get the relations between this special edge which plays main role in doing dominating with other special types of edges of graph like bridges. Finally, the relation between this number with other special numbers and characteristic of graph like order are discussed.

In this research article, the notions of SuperHyperDominating and SuperHyperResolving are defined in the setting of neutrosophic SuperHyperGraphs. Some ideas are introduced on both notions of SuperHyperDominating and SuperHyperResolving, simultaneously and as the same with each other. Some neutrosophic SuperHyperClasses are defined based on the notion, SuperHyperResolving. The terms of duality, totality, perfectness, connectedness, and stable, are added to basic framework and initial notions, SuperHyperDominating and SuperHyperResolving but the concentration is on the “perfectness” to figure out what’s going on when for all targeted SuperHyperVertices, there’s only one SuperHyperVertex in the intended set. There are some instances and some clarifications to make sense about what’s happened and what’s done in the starting definitions. The key point is about the minimum sets. There are some questions and some problems to be taken as some avenues to pursue this study and this research. Objectives to assess COVID-19 mortality rates per country population. To determine what if any independent country-specific variables from 9 different databases were correlated. Design population based retrospective cohort study. Setting analysis of global COVID-19 treatment and containment strategies using data from 9 worldwide websites. Participants 108 countries worldwide. Interventions none. Main Outcome Measures were COVID-19 death rates per country population analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis. The main outcome parameters were to determine if there are any correlations between the percentage of countrywide COVID-19 deaths/population by the countries’ percent vaccinated. Secondary outcome measures include the effect of other independent variables on COVID-19 death rates per country population including: health expenditures per capita, annual income per capita, COVID-19 tests per 1000 people, stringency index (a measure of each countries containment strategies), hydroxychloroquine score (a measure of each countries use), ivermectin score (a measure of each countries use), hypertension, obesity, diabetes, and specific countries and geographic locations. Results COVID-19 vaccination rates ranged from 0-99% in 108 countries. Univariate analysis demonstrates the following independent variables to correlate with COVID-19 deaths/population (correlation coefficient, p value): countrywide COVID-19 vaccination rates (+0.2936, p=0.002); healthcare costs per capita (+0.3212, p=0.0007), income per capita (+0.3051, p=0.0013), COVID-19 tests per 1000 population (+0.6981 p=0.0307); stringency index (+0.3098, p=0.0011); hydroxychloroquine index (-0.1337, p=0.0678); and ivermectin index (-0.1383, p=0.1535). Conclusions Increasing rates of COVID-19 vaccination are associated with increase COVID-19 death rates per country population (p=0.002). Other variables associated include healthcare costs per capita (+0.3212, p=0.0007), income per capita (+0.3051, p=0.0013), COVID-19 tests per 1000 population (+0.6981 p=0.0307); and stringency index (+0.3098, p=0.0011).

Various authors have highlighted the importance of marriage as a social marker that alter the so-cial categorization of individuals and their relationships from youth to adulthood according to the cultural construction of the life course in Arab countries. This article aims to analyze the in-teraction between the socio-political framework (structure) and the capacity for individual action (agency) in the context of biographical experiences to achieve emancipation in Morocco. This per-spective responds to the demand of different authors to include the subjective approaches of young people in the process of analysis. This analysis will be guided by some questions: Which is the capacity of young Arabs to decide the orientation of their life trajectories? What factors (cultural, family, socioeconomic, educational, etc.) create and shape the expectations of young people re-garding their transition to adult life? Is there a specific model of emancipation in the Arab Medi-terranean countries?

New notion of dimension as set, as two optimal numbers including metric number, dimension number and as optimal set are introduced in individual framework and in formation of family. Behaviors of twin and antipodal are explored in fuzzy(neutrosophic) graphs. Fuzzy(neutrosophic) graphs, under conditions, fixed-edges, fixed-vertex and strong fixed-vertex are studied. Some classes as path, cycle, complete, strong, t-partite, bipartite, star and wheel in the formation of individual case and in the case, they form a family are studied in the term of dimension. Fuzzification(neutrosofication) of twin vertices but using crisp concept of antipodal vertices are another approaches of this study. Thus defining two notions concerning vertices which one of them is fuzzy(neutrosophic) titled twin and another is crisp titled antipodal to study the behaviors of cycles which are partitioned into even and odd, are concluded. Classes of cycles according to antipodal vertices are divided into two classes as even and odd. Parity of the number of edges in cycle causes to have two subsections under the section is entitled to antipodal vertices. In this study, the term dimension is introduced on fuzzy(neutrosophic) graphs. The locations of objects by a set of some junctions which have distinct distance from any couple of objects out of the set, are determined. Thus it’s possible to have the locations of objects outside of this set by assigning partial number to any objects. The classes of these specific graphs are chosen to obtain some results based on dimension. The types of crisp notions and fuzzy(neutrosophic) notions are used to make sense about the material of this study and the outline of this study uses some new notions which are crisp and fuzzy(neutrosophic). This article presents a new method of segmenting images with gray levels. The method is based on determining several thresholds for separation of gray levels. The determination of these thresholds is done using the certainty of the neutrosophic information. The concept of this method can be stated simply: to choose the local maximums for the neutrosophic certainty.

Optimal sets and optimal numbers have key points to get new results but in some cases, there are usages of sets and numbers instead of optimal ones. This article presents a new method of segmenting grayscale images by minimizing Shannon's neutrosophic entropy. For the proposed segmentation method, the neutrosophic information components, i.e., the degree of truth, the degree of neutrality and the degree of falsity are defined taking into account the belonging to the segmented regions and at the same time to the separation threshold area. The principle of the method is simple and easy to understand and can lead to multiple thresholds. The efficacy of the method is illustrated using some test gray level images. The experimental results show that the proposed method has good performance for segmentation with optimal gray level thresholds.

Neutrosophic cubic set is the hybridization of the concept of neutrosophic set and interval neutrosophic set. Neutrosophic cubic set has the capacity to express the hybrid information of both the interval neutrosophic set and the single valued neutrosophic set simultaneously. As newly defined, little research on the operations and applications of neutrosophic cubic sets appear in the current literature. In the present paper we propose the score, accuracy functions for neutrosophic cubic sets and prove their basic properties. We firstly develop TODIM method to solve multi attribute group decision making in neutrosophic cubic set environment, which we call NC-TODIM. Also, we solve a MAGDM problem using the proposed NC-TODIM method to show the applicability and effectiveness of the developed method. We also conduct sensitivity analysis to show the impact of ranking order of the alternatives for different values of attenuation factor of losses for multi-attribute group decision making problem.

Purpose: There is limited research on the reasons behind startup failure, and none of the available studies use a competency approach. In this study we applied Spencer’s competency model to identify the competencies in startups which, according to their CEOs, contributed to failure. Methodology: Three coders analyzed the stories of 50 startup failures published online using modified Critical Incident Technique. Findings: Two salient competencies were identified playing a fundamental role in startup failures if missing: Information seeking and Customer service orientation. A network pattern of 9 more prevalent competency deficits was created: Technical/professional/managerial expertise, Analytical thinking, Flexibility, Self-control, Concern for order, quality and accuracy, Interpersonal understanding, Self-confidence, Team leadership and Teamwork and cooperation. Besides startup-specific behavior descriptions were added to Spencer’s competencies. Research implications: Competency approach and Critical Incident Technique method proved to be feasible to identify competency deficits in failed startups. Practical implications: The identified competency deficits offer relevant focus areas for the assessment and development of startup teams. Originality: The study provided research evidence to describe the competency deficits of startup teams that are connected to their failure.

Neutrosophic cubic set (NCS) is one of the important family members of neutrosophic hybrid sets. Neutrosophic cubic set has more strength than other family members of neutrosophic hybrid sets to express incomplete information due to the presence of interval valued neutrosophic set (IVNS) and single valued neutrosophic set (SVNS) in its structure. Cross entropy measure is one of the best way to calculate the divergence of any variable from the priori one variable. In this paper we first define a new cross entropy measure under NCSs environment which we call NC- cross entropy measure. We investigate the basic properties of NC-cross entropy. We also propose weighted NC-cross entropy and investigate its basic properties. We develop a novel multi attribute decision making (MADM) strategy based on weighted NC-cross entropy. To show the feasibility and applicability, we solve a MADM problem using the proposed strategy.

Single valued neutrosophic set has king power to express uncertainty characterized by indeterminacy, inconsistency and incompleteness. Most of the existing single valued neutrosophic cross entropy bears an asymmetrical behavior and produce an undefined phenomenon in some situations. In order to deal with these disadvantages, we propose a new cross entropy measure under single valued neutrosophic set (SVNS) environment namely SN- cross entropy and prove its basic properties. Also we define weighted SN-cross entropy measure and investigate its basic properties. We develop a new multi attribute group decision making (MAGDM) strategy for ranking of the alternatives based on the proposed weighted SN-cross entropy measure between each alternative and the ideal alternative. Finally, a numerical example of MAGDM problem of investment potential is solved to show the validity and efficiency of proposed decision making strategy. We also present comparative anslysis of the obtained result with the results obtained form the existing solution strategies in the solution.

The concept of neutrosophic number is a significant mathematical tool to deal with real scientific problems because it can tackle indeterminate and incomplete information which exists generally in real problems. In this article, we use neutrosophic numbers (a + bI), where a and bI denote determinate component and indeterminate component respectively. We explore the situations in which the input information is needed to express in terms of neutrosophic numbers. We define score functions and accuracy functions for ranking neutrosophic numbers. We then define a cosine function to determine unknown criteria weights. We define neutrosophic number harmonic mean operators and proved their basic properties. Then, we develop two novel MCGDM strategies using the proposed aggregation operators. We solve a numerical example to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed two strategies. Sensitivity analysis with variation of “I” on neutrosophic numbers is performed to demonstrate how the preference ranking order of alternatives is sensitive to the change of “I”. The efficiency of the developed strategies is ascertained by comparing the obtained results from the proposed strategies with the existing strategies in the literature.

These trials have recently been extensively reviewed and reasons why pre-clinical data collected in animal models has failed to translate into clinical benefit to patients has been purported. However, the biological mechanisms underlying translational failure need to be examined to ensure future myostatin inhibitor development endeavors do not meet with the same fate. Here, we explore the biology which could explain the failed translation of myostatin inhibitors in the treatment of DMD.

Despite all scientific efforts and many protracted and expensive clinical trials, no new drug has been approved by FDA for treatment of Alzheimer disease (AD) since 2003. Indeed, more than 200 investigational programs have failed or have been abandoned in the last decade. The most probable explanations for failures of disease-modifying treatments (DMTs) for AD may include late initiation of treatments during the course of AD development, inappropriate drug dosages, erroneous selection of treatment targets, and mainly an inadequate understanding of the complex pathophysiology of AD, which may necessitate combination treatments rather than monotherapy. Clinical trials’ methodological issues have also been criticized. Current drug-development research for AD is aimed to overcome these drawbacks. Preclinical and prodromal AD populations, as well as traditionally investigated populations representing all the clinical stages of AD, are included in recent trials. Systematic use of biomarkers in staging preclinical and prodromal AD and of a single primary outcome in trials of prodromal AD are regularly integrated. The application of amyloid, tau, and neurodegeneration biomarkers, including new biomarkers—such as Tau positron emission tomography, neurofilament light chain (blood and CSF biomarker of axonal degeneration) and neurogranin (CSF biomarker of synaptic functioning)—to clinical trials allows more precise staging of AD. Additionally, use of the Bayesian statistics, modifiable clinical trial designs, and clinical trial simulators enrich the trial methodology. Besides, combination therapy regimens are currently assessed in clinical trials. The abovementioned diagnostic and statistical advances, which have been recently integrated in clinical trials, are consequential to the recent failures of studies of disease-modifying treatments. Their experiential rather than theoretical origins may better equip potentially successful drug-development strategies.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) can be a life-saving intervention in cases of potentially reversible refractory respiratory failure. One such indication can be bleomycin-induced lung injury. However, in some cases, the injury can be so severe that it becomes irreversible and creates complex medical decisions regarding life support and the continuation of care when no additional therapeutic options are feasible, particularly in cases of patients who were young and fully functional prior to an acute illness. In cases of full pulmonary replacement with mechanical support and the degree of functionality that can be attained utilizing modalities such as ECMO can obscure the true severity of illness and make end-of-life decisions significantly harder for families and caregivers.

Background: The coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) has spread globally with more than 80,000 people infected, and nearly 3000 patients died. Currently, we are in an urgent need for effective treatment strategy to control the clinical deterioration of COVID-19 patients. Methods: The clinical data of 10 COVID-19 patients receiving short-term moderate-dose corticosteroid (160mg/d) plus immunoglobulin (20g/d) were studied in the North Yard of The First Hospital of Changsha, Hunan from January 17^th to February 27^th, 2020. Epidemiological, clinical, laboratory, radiological findings were analyzed. Results: After treatment with combination of low-dose corticosteroid (40-80mg/d) and immunoglobulin (10g/d), patients’ lymphocyte count (0.88±0.34 vs 0.59±0.18, P<0.05), oxygenation index including SPO₂ (94.90±2.51 vs 90.50±5.91, P<0.05) and PaO₂/FiO₂ (321.36±136.91 vs 129.30±64.97, P<0.05) were significantly lower than pre-treatment, and CT showed that the pulmonary lesion deteriorated in all patients. While after treatment of short-term moderate-dose corticosteroid plus immunoglobulin, patients’ APACHE Ⅱ score (9.10±6.15 vs 5.50±9.01, P<0.05), body temperature (37.59±1.16 vs 36.46±0.25, P<0.05), lymphocyte count (0.59±0.18 vs 1.36±0.51, P<0.05), Lactate dehydrogenase (419.24±251.31 vs 257.40±177.88, P<0.05), and C-reactive protein (49.94±26.21 vs 14.58±15.25, P<0.05) significantly improved compared with post-treatment with low-dose therapy. In addition, oxygenation index including SPO₂ (90.50±5.91 vs 97.50±1.18, P<0.05), PaO₂ (60.47±14.53 vs 99.07±34.31, P<0.05), and PaO₂/FiO₂ (129.30±64.97 vs 340.86±146.72, P<0.05) significant improved. Furthermore, CT showed that pulmonary lesions obviously improved in 7 patients. After systematic therapy, 4 out of 10 COVID-19 patients recovered and discharged. Conclusions: Short-term moderate-dose corticosteroid plus immunoglobulin is effective for reversing the continued deterioration of COVID-19 patients who failed to respond to the low-dose therapy. The paper investigates some similarity measures in interval bipolar neutrosophic environment for multi-attribute decision making problems. At first, we define Hamming and Euclidean distances measures between interval bipolar neutrosophic sets and establish their basic properties. We also propose two similarity measures based on the Hamming and Euclidean distance functions. Using maximum and minimum operators, we define new similarity measures and prove their basic properties. Using the proposed similarity measures, we propose a novel multi attribute decision making strategy in interval bipolar neutrosophic set environment. Lastly, we solve an illustrative example of multi attribute decision making and present comparison analysis to show the feasibility, applicability and effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Bipolar neutrosophic set is an important extension of bipolar fuzzy set. This set is a hybridization of bipolar fuzzy set and neutrosophic set. Every element of a bipolar neutrosophic set consists of three independent positive membership functions and three independent negative membership functions. In this paper, we develop cross entropy measures of bipolar neutrosophic sets and prove its properties. We also define cross entropy measures of interval bipolar neutrosophic sets and prove its properties. Thereafter, we develop two novel multi-attribute decision making methods based on the proposed cross entropy measures. In the decision making framework, we calculate the weighted cross entropy measures between each alternative and the ideal alternative to rank the alternatives and choose the best one. We solve two illustrative examples of multi-attribute decision making problems and compare the obtained result with the results of other existing methods to show the applicability and effectiveness of the developed method. In the end, the main conclusion and future scope of research are summarized.

Along with the economic growth, the companies must contribute to social progress and promote environmental sustainability in equal harmony. Sustainable human resource management (SHRM) strategies make it possible to attain the economic, social and environmental goals of a firm. In this regard, a survey method is discussed using the literature review and online questionnaire to identify the main factors/indicators during the SHRM evaluation of manufacturing firms in India. Uncertainty is commonly occurred in the assessment of SHRM factors. As a generalized version of fuzzy sets, single-valued neutrosophic set (SVNS) has been demonstrated as a valuable tool to illustrate the indeterminate, inconsistent and uncertain data of realistic decision-making problems. Considering the idea of SVNSs, this study develops a hybrid multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) approach for assessing the SHRM of manufacturing firms under uncertainty settings. For this purpose, an SVN-alternative ranking order method accounting for two-step normalization (AROMAN) is proposed based on VIFI-score function-based decision experts’ (DEs’) weighting tool and integrated criteria weight-determining model to solve the MCGDM problems with fully unknown DEs and criteria weights. In this regard, we develop new SVN-distance measure to compute the degree of difference between SVNSs. Some examples are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of developed measure over the existing ones. In addition, new criteria weight-determination model is presented with the integration of objective weights through IVIF-distance measure-based model and subjective weights through ranking comparison (RANCOM) tool on SVNSs. The proposed ranking method is applied to an empirical study of SHRM assessment for manufacturing firms in India, which shows its applicability and feasibility. In this study, the evaluation criteria are characterized into social, environmental and economic aspects with DE’s opinions. Comparative and sensitivity analyses are made to show the strength and steadiness of presented approach. This study provides an innovative MCGDM analysis framework, which makes a significant contribution to the SHRM assessment problem under indeterminate, inconsistent and uncertain setting.

In this way, some approaches are applied to get some sets from (Neutrosophic)n-SuperHyperGraph and after that, some ideas are applied to get different types of super-closing numbers which are called by optimal-super-resolving number, optimal-super-coloring number and optimal-super-dominating number. The notion of dual is another new idea which is covered by these notions and results. In the setting of dual, the set of super-vertices is exchanged with the set of super-edges. Thus these results and definitions hold in the setting of dual. Setting of neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph is used to get some examples and solutions for two applications which are proposed. Both setting of SuperHyperGraph and neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph are simultaneously studied but the results are about the setting of n-SuperHyperGraphs. Setting of neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph get some examples where neutrosophic hypergraphs as special case of neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph are used. The clarifications use neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph and theoretical study is to use n-SuperHyperGraph but these results are also applicable into neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph. Special usage from different attributes of neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph are appropriate to have open ways to pursue this study. Different types of procedures including optimal-super-set, and optimal-super-number alongside study on the family of (neutrosophic)n-SuperHyperGraph are proposed in this way, some results are obtained. General classes of (neutrosophic)n-SuperHyperGraph are used to obtains these closing numbers and super-closing numbers and the representatives of the optimal-super-coloring sets, optimal-super-dominating sets and optimal-super-resolving sets. Using colors to assign to the super-vertices of n-SuperHyperGraph and characterizing optimal-super-resolving sets and optimal-super-dominating sets are applied. Some questions and problems are posed concerning ways to do further studies on this topic. Using different ways of study on n-SuperHyperGraph to get new results about closing numbers and super-closing numbers alongside sets in the way that some closing numbers super-closing numbers get understandable perspective. Family of n-SuperHyperGraph are studied to investigate about the notions, super-resolving and super-coloring alongside super-dominating in n-SuperHyperGraph. In this way, sets of representatives of optimal-super-colors, optimal-super-resolving sets and optimal-super-dominating sets have key role. Optimal-super sets and optimal-super numbers have key points to get new results but in some cases, there are usages of sets and numbers instead of optimal-super ones. Simultaneously, three notions are applied into (neutrosophic)n-SuperHyperGraph to get sensible results about their structures. Basic familiarities with n-SuperHyperGraph theory and neutrosophic n-SuperHyperGraph theory are proposed for this article.

While paresthesia-based spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has been proven effective to treat chronic neuropathic pain, initial benefits may lead to the development of “Failed SCS Syndrome’ (FSCSS) defined as decrease over time related to Loss of Efficacy (LoE) with or without Loss of Coverage (LoC). Development of technologies associating new paresthesia-free stimulation waveforms and implanted pulse generator adapters provide opportunities to manage patients with LoE. The main goal of our study was to investigate salvage procedures, through neu-rostimulation adapters, in patients already implanted with SCS and experienced LoE. We retro-spectively analyzed a cohort of patients who were offered new SCS programs/waveforms through an implanted adapter between 2018 and 2021. Patients were evaluated before, and at 1, 3, 6 and 12-month follow-up. Outcomes included pain intensity rating with Visual Analog Scale (VAS), pain/coverage mappings and stimulation preferences. Last follow-up evaluations (N=27) showed significant improvement in VAS (p = 0.0001), ODI (p = 0.021) and Quality of Life (p=0.023). In the 11/27 patients with LoC, SCS efficacy on pain intensity (36.89%) was accompa-nied by paresthesia coverage recovery (55.57%) and pain surface decrease (47.01%). At 12-month follow-up, 81.3% preferred to keep tonic stimulation in their waveform portfolio. SCS conver-sion using adapters appears promising as a salvage solution, with an emphasis on paresthesia recapturing enabled by spatial retargeting. In light of these results, adapters could be integrated to SCS rescue algorithms or should be considered in SCS rescue.

Studies in animal models have suggested that the ketogenic diet may be effective in the treatment of cancer. However, human cohort studies on the ketogenic diet have, thus far, failed to show benefits in cancer survival or in any other hard clinical endpoints of the disease. This paper presents a case report of a patient with glioblastoma multiforme. The patient had initially been treated with standard oncotherapy including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Despite standard treatment, the patient experienced a recurrence of the glioblastoma seven months later. Subsequently, the patient refused radiotherapy and chemotherapy and opted to use the paleolithic ketogenic diet (PKD) as a stand-alone therapy. Following the adoption of the PKD, progression of the disease has been completely halted. At the time of writing, the patient has remained in remission for 48 months, is without side-effects and experiences an excellent quality of life without the use of any drugs.

Volume 1 of this study re-examines the classical equivalence principle, which maintains the equivalence of inertial mass and gravitational mass (also referred to as gravitating mass) and extends this concept to incorporate new findings related to both illuminating (baryonic) matter and dark matter. The paper provides a comprehensive analysis of Matter Mass (Mᴍ) and Gravitating Mass (Mɢ) and their roles within the extended framework. It introduces the concept of Apparent Mass (Mᵃᵖᵖ), a negative mass component that influences Effective Mass (Mᵉᶠᶠ), in alignment with the research by A.D. Chernin et al. on dark energy and the structure of the Coma Cluster of Galaxies. Additionally, the paper reinterprets Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation by integrating Apparent Mass, leading to a revised understanding of gravitational potential. The study demonstrates how the interaction between Matter Mass and Negative Apparent Mass contributes to a redefined concept of Gravitating Mass. The rapid development of advanced AI technologies poses serious existential threats and necessitates research on safe and responsible Human-AI alignment. We hypothesize that the evolution of AI may be viewed not as something accidental or artificial, but as a natural part of the evolution of intelligence in living species. This perspective suggests a different view of the Human-AI relationship, where AI is not seen as a threat or a mere enhancement of humans, but as a mean of revealing and establishing true human nature — achieving greater freedom and self-determination. While in previous evolutionary stages, more freedom was attained through inculturation, AI can serve as a tool in the next stage by providing a direct connection between individuals and culture, overcoming the limitations of traditional cultural acquisition processes and giving rise to post-human free beings. A specific step-by-step framework rooted in cognitive evolution theories is proposed, along with potential directions for empirical research.

AbstractIntroduction: Consistent utilization of institutional delivery service reduces maternal morbidity and mortality. However, service utilization could in turn influenced by the women’s satisfaction with the service provided by the health care providers. In addition, their satisfactions with the institutional delivery service remains understudied. Assessment of the maternal satisfaction with maternal health service is a major input to improve maternal health services. Objective: To assess the maternal satisfaction with maternal health service and its predictors among the women who gave birth in last 12 months in Darara district, Southern Ethiopia.Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was done using a mixed method among the sample of 520 women in Darara district, South Ethiopia from June 1-30, 2023. A systematic and purposive sampling procedure was utilized to choice the study subjects. A structured, validated and pretested interview-administrated questionnaire and in-depth interview were utilized to collect the data. The data were entered into Epi data version 3.1 and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The chi-square (X²) test was utilized to determine the overall association between independent and dependent variables. Both bi-variable and multivariable binary logistic regression analyses were conducted. Important assumptions of the binary logistic regression were checked to be satisfied. The coding and analysis of the qualitative data were done using thematic content analysis technique by Atlas-Ti software and presented in narratives. Results: The total maternal satisfaction with maternal health service was 55.2% (95% CI = 50.8-59.4). The identified predictors of maternal satisfaction were distance from household to health post (AOR = 3.59; 95% CI= 1.71 - 7.55), absence of preparation of HEWs during procedure (AOR= 2.87; 95% CI = 1.74 - 4.74), acceptability of the HES by HHs (AOR= 2.18; 95% CI = 1.14 - 4.18), having a reliable communication method with HEWs (AOR = 3.47; 95% CI = 1.77 - 6.79) and received training on the model family (AOR= 2.48, 95% CI= 1.86 - 2.57). These quantitative results were supported by the individual, organizational, socio-demographic and cultural qualitative findings. Conclusions: This study indicated that 55.2% of women were satisfied with maternal service.Distance from household to health post, absence of preparation of HEWs during procedure, acceptability of the Health Extension Service (HES) by household, having a reliable communication method with HEWs and received training on the model family were significant predictors of maternal satisfaction. The interventions to increase maternal satisfaction with HES need to focus on household-based acceptability of them and their reliable communication method in planning and implementing the services. Similarly, expansion of training of model family in the community would increase maternal satisfaction levels.

Background/Objectives: Diagnosis of encephalitis is a challenging problem due to the heteroge-neity of clinical presentations and the myriad of aetiology. The objective was to determine the ae-tiology, clinical features, laboratory parameters, radiological findings and in-hospital outcome of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) cases in Myanmar. Methods: A prospective analytic study was conducted at Neuromedical Ward of Yangon General Hospital during March to August 2023. 81 AES cases were enrolled and cerebrospinal fluids (CSF) samples were collected. Qiastat ME Panelwas used to detect viral, bacterial and fungal pathogens. Results: 17 out of 81 (21%) cases were non-encephalitis with alternative definite diagnosis. Among the remaining 64 enceph-alitis cases, the exact infectious and immune aetiologies were identified in 31/64 (48.4%); 26/31 cases (83.9%) were infectious causes and 5/31 patients (16.1%) were immune encephalitis. Among the infection causes, six Herpes Simplex Virus-1, one bacteriologically confirmed and seven probable Mycobacterium tuberculosis, three Haemophilus influenzae, two Streptococcus pneumoniae, one Streptococcus pyogenes, one Varicella-Zoster Virus (Ramsay Hunt Syndrome with menin-goencephalitis), two Cryptococcus neoformans infected patients and rare causes such as Listeria monocytogenes, Burkholdelria cepacia, Sphingomonas paucimobilis and Aspergillus were identified. Frailty syndrome is a complex and multifaceted condition that significantly impacts the health and well-being of older adults. This article provides a comprehensive overview of frailty syndrome, including its definitions, evolution, and the rising role of biomarkers and electroencephalography (EEG) in its diagnosis. The discussion explores the reasons behind the rise of frailty syndrome, the difficulties in managing it, and the global research efforts aimed at understanding and addressing this condition. The economic costs associated with frailty syndrome are highlighted, along with the countries that are currently and will be more affected in the near future. Strategies to postpone or avoid frailty syndrome are discussed, with an emphasis on the importance of muscle strength exercises over aerobic exercises to combat sarcopenia. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for a multidisciplinary approach to frailty management and the importance of social support and engagement in preventing and managing frailty.

Attention mechanisms have become a fundamental component of deep learning, including the field of computer vision. The key idea behind attention in computer vision is to help the model focus on the relevant spatial regions of the input image, rather than treating all regions equally. The traditional approaches to attention mechanisms in computer vision often suffer from distribution inconsistencies in the attention maps, resulting in sharp transitions that negatively affect model’s focus and lead to poor generalization on complex shapes. The problem of spatial incoherence is particularly pronounced in the task of semantic segmentation, where accurate pixel-level predictions require a detailed understanding of the spatial relationships within the image. In this paper, we propose an attention mechanism called Smooth Attention designed for convolutional neural networks to address the problem of spatial inconsistency in attention maps through multidimensional spatial smoothing. We conduct a series of experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed mechanism and demonstrate its superior performance compared to traditional methods.

The conversion of LULC classes into other types is occurring at a faster rate globally including United States. Many studies have examined the drivers and causes of LULC changes, particularly, in northeast Georgia and Atlanta in the United States, while the case of southeast Georgia remains unstudied. Thus, this study filled the gap by quantifying and predicting the impact of LULC change on forestlands and how these LULC changes have affected forest health. The study used Landsat images, including 2005 and 2023 together with the random forest algorithm to perform LULC classification on the Google Earth Engine. Also, the study predicted how LULC will impact forest cover by 2050. The results revealed that forest hectares have generally changed approximately from 65% to 62% between 2005 and 2023, and this is projected to likely further decline to about 53% by 2050. This change in forest acreage has resulted decline in the health of the forest, that is the NDVI values changed from 0.992 to 0.866 between 2005 and 2023. The study concludes that the forest cover in southeast Georgia has changed to urban features over the years. Agriculture land is projected to gain most of the forest cover by 2050.

This research explores how regional socioeconomic variables affect the perception of social trust and support networks (PYCC) in Italian regions, and examines the implications for public policy designed to strengthen social cohesion. This study examines the variable "People You Can Count On" (PYCC) from the ISTAT-BES dataset, focusing on its distribution across Italian regions between 2013 and 2022. Using clustering through a k-Means algorithm optimized with the Silhouette coefficient and the Elbow method, three distinct clusters of regions emerged, highlighting significant differences in social support networks. An econometric model was employed to estimate the PYCC variable, factoring in socioeconomic indicators such as employment rates, income inequality, and social participation. The results indicate a complex interplay between socioeconomic conditions and social trust, with regions in the South and Islands showing increased community support, while many Northern regions experienced declines. The study suggests that areas with lower economic conditions often foster stronger social networks, driven by necessity. These findings underline the importance of targeted public policies aimed at fostering social cohesion, particularly in regions facing economic challenges. Policy implications include enhancing education, supporting small enterprises, and promoting social housing and welfare initiatives. Strengthening community participation and volunteering are also highlighted as critical strategies to build resilient support networks. Overall, the research provides valuable insights into the regional disparities of social trust and the role of socioeconomic factors in shaping community support across Italy.

Health management in industrial systems is more critical in maintenance management and it plays an important role in productivity, fault diagnosis, safety, efficiency, and economy in manufacturing industries. Early detection of faults in machinery may increase the effectiveness of maintenance actions and will avoid unwanted consequences in process operations and maintenance. Existing fault diagnosis methods have limitations such as insufficient accuracy, slow detection rate, and handling large and complex data sets. In this digital age, Industry 4.0 techniques have been applied across all fields, including the condition monitoring of machines. This research addresses the gaps in traditional fault diagnosis by using deep learning, a modern AI technique effective for diagnosing faults in various machines. Deep learning algorithms Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Coevolutionary Neural Network (CNN), and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) are tested for fault diagnosis using vibration datasets collected from Spectra Quest Machinery Fault Simulator (SQMFS). In this research work, NI-DAQ (National Instruments- Data Acquisition) system, accelerometer, and LabVIEW software are used to collect vibration signals. Preprocessing of the signals has been done using a sampling strategy, shuffling, standardization, and reshaping data augmentation. The result shows that MLP accuracy in the prediction of fault is 0.9, CNN reached 0.95, and RNN and LSTM with 0.57 and 0.45 respectively. The high performance of CNN is due to its ability to effectively capture spatial patterns in vibration data which is crucial for fault diagnosis in rotating machinery followed by MLP due to its faster convergence during training. However, when scaling the data, MLP outperformed CNN, demonstrating superior adaptability to increased data complexity and volume. Due to the need for larger datasets and temporal patterns in the vibration data, which RNN and LSTM are designed to handle, they resulted in a lower accuracy. This study shows that CNN has given better results than other deep learning algorithms MLP, RNN, and LSTM in fault diagnosis of rotating machinery. Future research could explore the application of these techniques to different types of machinery and fault conditions.

Large language models (LLMs) are known for their exceptional performance across a range of natural language processing tasks, but their deployment comes at a high computational and financial cost. On the other hand, smaller language models (SLMs), which can be deployed on lower-cost edge devices, struggle to match the performance of their larger counterparts. This paper presents a novel hybrid inference approach that leverages the strengths of both model types while minimizing reliance on costly cloud-based LLMs. Unlike existing methods that route entire queries to either an SLM or a cloud LLM, our approach introduces a reward-based mechanism to dynamically determine the involvement of the cloud LLM during token generation. Specifically, each token predicted by the SLM is evaluated against a reward score, and only when this score falls below a certain threshold is the cloud LLM consulted for assistance in the next token prediction. This method not only reduces the traffic to the cloud LLM, thereby lowering costs, but also allows for flexible control over response quality depending on the reward score threshold. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach significantly reduces cloud LLM usage with minimal impact on overall response quality, offering a cost-effective solution for deploying high-performance language models.

Nature-based solutions (NbS) have gained global attention for addressing societal challenges, benefiting biodiversity, and promoting human well-being. NbS have been increasingly recognized for their role in mitigating climate change impacts, such as coastal flooding. However, despite their integration into policy frameworks in Europe and parts of Africa, there remains limited empirical evidence regarding their effectiveness. This study seeks to address this gap by exploring the factors influencing perceptions and awareness of the effectiveness of NbS in coastal communities. A structured survey questionnaire was administered in three coastal communities—Kula, Oyorokoto, and Bonny—examining how perception, knowledge, and socio-economic factors affect the effectiveness of NbS. Results show that socio-economic factors such as age, education, and occupation significantly influence the perceived effectiveness of NbS. Additionally, awareness was found to have a stronger impact on effectiveness than perception. The study concludes that awareness-raising initiatives, particularly those focused on the protective benefits of mangroves, are crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of NbS. Conservation, afforestation, and restoration of coastal ecosystems are recommended as key strategies for promoting NbS and their role in climate resilience.

From ancient times to the present, mankind has struggled with infectious diseases that pose a serious threat to people's lives, COVID-19 pandemic has given a huge impact to the human society, which has triggered a lot of thinking. In the future, humans may encounter various unexpected disasters or awful events, therefore, should learn from COVID-19 pandemic incident that need to pay special attention to the emergency supply of manpower and materials, whether a major disaster or not. That is emergency medical management is very important in the event of a sudden outbreak. What’s more, the preparation and scheduling of emergency medical supplies well safeguards people’s lives, health, and safety. However, owing to the sudden onset of an epidemic and given the population trends, the scale of infections and the demand for supplies in the epidemic area are uncertain. The main influencing factors and mechanisms of emergency material demand under the development trend of emergencies can be studied, and materials can be allocated efficiently and effectively, so as to minimize damage. In this study, it improves upon the dynamics model of infectious diseases firstly, by establishing a demand forecasting model for a certain area, taking the Hubei province as an example. Furthermore, this dynamics model is used to predict demand for emergency supplies, such as masks, respirators, and food in the area where the disaster will occur. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of this prediction model, which supports for the development of emergency material management systems, ulterior, this study provides a framework for the distribution of emergency supplies and a guideline for relief efforts.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the risk of hepatitis B virus reactivation (HBVr) in COVID-19 patients receiving immunosuppressive treatment, which has been insufficiently studied to date. Secondarily, we aimed to evaluate the seroprevalence of HBV infection in COVID-19 patients. Methods: We performed an HBV screening in all Romanian adults hospitalized in 4 COVID-19 wards between October 2021 and September 2022. We enrolled patients with positive hepatitis B core antibody (anti-HBc) without protective hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs), HBV treatment or immunosuppressive conditions, whom we followed virologically at 3 months. Results: We identified 333/835 (39.9%) anti-HBc-positive patients. Follow-up was performed in 13 patients with positive hepatitis B surface antigen (HbsAg) and 19 HBsAg-negative/anti-HBc-positive patients. Among those who received immunosuppressants, 4/23 (17.4%) patients experienced HBVr: 1 out of 8 (12.5%) HBsAg-positive patients (with 1.99 log increase in HBV DNA level) and 3 out of 15 (20%) HBsAg-negative/anti-HBc-positive patients (with de novo detectable HBV DNA level). Conclusions: Administration of COVID-19 immunosuppressants may result in a significant risk of HBVr in co-infected patients. We recommend performing an HBV triple screen panel (HBsAg, anti-HBs, anti-HBc) in all COVID-19 patients receiving immunosuppressive treatment. HBV prophylaxis may be indicated in certain patients. Larger studies are needed in order to establish an appropriate and cost-effective management in these patients.

The intended hadith distortion here refers to the alteration or falsification of hadith narratives that can threaten the integrity and authenticity of sacred texts as sources of Islamic teaching. This article identifies the factors contributing to hadith distortion and its serious consequences in contemporary hadith studies.

Background/Objectives: Phenylketonuria is a hereditary metabolic disorder characterized by a deficiency of phenylalanine hydroxylase. Main treatment for PKU is a phenylalanine-restricted diet. Exclusion of protein rich natural foods and inclusion of low-Phe substitutes may give rise to an imbalanced diet increasing the risk of overweight and obesity in PKU is a cause of concern. We aimed to evaluate the body composition and nutritional biochemical biomarkers in adult PKU patients who are on Phe-restricted and essential amino acids supplemented nutrition therapy and to investigate the relationships, between these parameters and patient gender, adherence to dietary therapy and disease type defined as mild or classic PKU. Methods: The study group comprised 37 PKU patients and 26 healthy siblings as controls. The participants were assessed based on an analysis of anthropometric parameters, body composition and biochemical test results. Results: PKU patients do not have a higher incidence of overweight and obesity than healthy controls, and the proportion of energy derived from carbohydrates in their diets was below the recommended level, and the total energy intake was below the recommended daily allowance. It was remarkable that patients with a treatment adherence ratio of &lt;50% displayed a higher prevalence of overweight and abdominal obesity in comparison to those with a more favorable treatment adherence ratio. Conclusions: In view of the growing prevalence of overweight in the general population, PKU patients should be kept under close long-term follow-up. Particularly in the group with low treatment compliance, more caution should be paid in terms of adverse outcomes.

Abstract: Background: Anticholinergic burden (ACB) from medications has been associated with adverse outcomes in older people. Aim: To conduct a non-randomised feasibility study of an intervention to Reduce anticholinerGic burdEN in oldER pATiEnts (REGENERATE) to inform a subsequent definitive trial. Methods: The development and evaluation of an ACB reduction intervention was guided by the Medical Research Council framework. Findings from preliminary studies, two systematic reviews and two qualitative studies informed the design of a mixed-method feasibility study. The study was conducted in one UK primary care site. The clinical pharmacist identified and invited potentially eligible patients, reviewed their medications and made recommendations to reduce the ACB as needed. Patients completed surveys at baseline, and 6- and 12- weeks post intervention. A purposive sample of patients and healthcare professionals was interviewed. Results: There was an 16/20 response; 14/16 attended the pharmacist led consultation and completed the baseline questionnaire and 13/14 completed both follow-up questionnaire. The sustainability of deprescribing was confirmed. The results suggest the potential of the intervention to reduce side effects from medications and improve quality of life (EQ-5D-5L). The interviews showed patients were happy with the study processes, and the medication changes, and were satisfied with the pharmacist’s consultation. Conclusions: This feasibility study demonstrated that a deprescribing/reducing ACB intervention in older people is feasible in a primary care setting and may benefit patients. Well-designed RCTs and cost-effectiveness studies should be undertaken to confirm the benefits of ACB deprescribing in primary care settings. Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov no. NCT04660838

For a number of reasons, a curative treatment for most chronic diseases is still unrealized [2–4] and the incidence of many chronic diseases is rapidly increasing [5–9]. A new model is offered as a solution; that being the individualized diagnosis of homeostasis, leading to the correction of epimutations. Homeostasis diagnosis and epimutation correction, HDEC. Individuals with chronic diseases are increasingly being defined by their epimutation signatures [10,11]. Modern innovations in toxicogenomic studies are also becoming more accurate in their ability to identify the unique epigenetic signature of each toxin [12–14]. Hormesis studies (over 5,000) [15] suggest a universal principle, that a small dose is always a stimulant [16–18].These three facts present an opportunity; a method to diagnose and reverse chronic disease tendencies. This new model requires a paradigm shift in our understanding of disease origins: that dysfunctions in homeostasis [19,20] are the primary and deepest level of chronic disease causation. This is the level where the diagnosis needs to be made and where the corrections need to take place [21].

Pipelines are regularly trenched and then forgotten, just allowed to run till failure and producing an overall incredibly poorly run system that is ripe for improvements. One of the most needed areas for improvement are proactive methods for condition assessment of existing pipelines. This can be divided into two main categories: proactive condition assessment technologies and nonstructural proactive condition improvement technologies. The objective of this paper is to identify the best option available on the market for both these areas of proactive condition assessment for existing pipelines. The compared proactive condition assessment technologies include Acoustic Resonance Testing, Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement Testing, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing, Pulsed Eddy Current Testing, and the Multisensor ROV. The technologies compared for nonstructural proactive condition improvement were Jetting, Pigging and also included the main requirements for a proper catalog of pipe information that can be used to produce a ranked system for assessing which pipes are at highest risk for failure and can be used to efficiently direct resources for pipe maintenance. The final conclusion was that Acoustic Resonance Testing and the Multisensor ROV are the two best products available for the proactive condition assessment of existing pipelines available on the market from their versatility of application and amount of information gathered during pipe inspection. The best option available in the group of nonstructural proactive condition improvement technologies was pigging for its incredibly low risk and low social impact as well as potential for improvement in the near future. It was also concluded that every agency would be better off with a catalog of the pipe material, age, length, diameter, and burial depth to know the location of every pipe an agency owns as well as to rank every pipe in terms of risk of failure and impact of said failure to most efficiently direct resources.

Objective: The main purpose of this meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy and safety of Oncolytic Viruses (OVs) in glioma therapy. Methods: We searched the literature in PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. The primary outcomes assessed were overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), objective response rate (ORR), and adverse events (AEs). The risk of bias was evaluated by sensitivity analysis and publication bias. Results: We identified 21 studies with 440 patients in this meta-analysis. In the single-arm analysis, the results showed that the 1-year OS rate was 47% (95% CI: 34%-61%, I2 = 75%) and the 2-year OS rate was 14% (95% CI: 10%-20%, I2 = 0%). The median OS was 12.48 months (95% CI: 10.71-14.25, I2 = 96%). The 1-year PFS rate was 13% (95% CI: 5%-24%, I2 = 0%), with the median PFS being 4.01 months (95% CI: 2.99-45.03, I2 = 96%). The pooled estimate of ORR was 7% (95% CI: 3%-12%, I2 = 23%). Funnel plots for median PFS were asymmetric with Egger’s test P < 0.01 indicating publication exists. The incidence of OVs-related AEs was 49% (95% CI: 20%-79%, I2 = 95%), and AEs > grade 3 was 8% (95% CI: 3%-16%, I2 = 62%). Conclusion: This meta-analysis indicated that OVs therapy was relatively safe but did not significantly extend survival in patients with gliomas.

This narrative review provides an in-depth analysis of attachment during adolescence, empha-sizing how early attachment experiences shape emotional, social, and psychological development. Drawing from the foundational work of Bowlby and Ainsworth, it revisits attachment theories and explores how the attachment system evolves as adolescents seek greater autonomy while maintaining bonds with caregivers. The review discusses the prevalence and developmental con-sequences of attachment-related disorders, such as reactive attachment disorder and disinhibited social engagement disorder, particularly in relation to adverse caregiving environments. Key themes include the intergenerational transmission of attachment, where parental reflective func-tioning and early caregiving behaviors influence attachment security across generations. The evolving role of fathers, peer relationships, and romantic bonds in adolescence are explored as significant factors shaping attachment patterns during this developmental period. Methodologi-cal considerations highlight the value of qualitative approaches, including interviews and obser-vational methods, for capturing the complexity of adolescent attachment dynamics. Additionally, the review addresses the processes that contribute to both continuity and change in attachment classifications over time, emphasizing the impact of life events, parental behaviors, and develop-mental transitions. The implications of attachment for developmental psychopathology, particu-larly in relation to emotional regulation and psychosocial functioning, are discussed. Finally, the review calls for further interdisciplinary research to deepen understanding of attachment mecha-nisms, using advanced technologies and culturally sensitive approaches to improve mental health and developmental outcomes across the lifespan.

Concerns regarding the safety of ethoxyquin (EQ) have gradually increased, highlighting the necessity of identifying safer and more effective antioxidants for use in animal feed. This study investigates the effects of a compound antioxidant (CA) as an alternative to ethoxyquin on feed oxidative stability, growth performance, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal health in broilers. A total of 351 one-day-old Arbor Acres Plus male broilers were randomly assigned to three treatments with nine replicates of 13 birds each. The experimental treatments included: CON group (basal diet), EQ group (basal diet + 200 g/ton EQ at 60% purity), and CA group (basal diet + 200 g/ton compound antioxidant, which comprises 18% butylated hydroxytoluene, 3% citric acid, and 1% tertiary butylhydroquinone). The experiment lasted for 21 days. Compared to the control group, supplementation with CA significantly reduced the acid value, peroxide value, and malondialdehyde content in the feeds after storage. Moreover, CA supplementation significantly decreased feed intake and the feed conversion ratio (FCR) without affecting weight gain of boilers, while also improving liver antioxidant capacity (increased T-AOC and SOD levels), intestinal antioxidant capacity (increased CAT, HO-1, and GPX7 protein expression), and enhancing the duodenal villus height-to-crypt depth ratio and jejunal villus height. Additionally, CA treatment reduced intestinal barrier permeability (decreased diamine oxidase activity and D-lactate levels), potentially by promoting the expression of Occludin, ZO-1, and Mucin2 protein. Furthermore, the addition of CA elevated the protein levels of NF-κB p50 along with its inhibitory factors, IκB and NF-κB p105, in the intestines of broilers, thereby enhancing immune regulatory capacity. This supplementation also led to an increased abundance of beneficial gut microorganisms, including Lactobacillus, Alistipes, Candidatus Arthromitus, and Turicibacter. In comparison to the EQ group, CA supplementation enhanced feed oxidative stability, decreased the FCR, and improved the intestinal morphology, barrier functions, and inflammatory status in broilers. These findings suggest that this compound antioxidant may serve as a healthier and more effective alternative to ethoxyquin.

DNA - the repository of genetic information harbours sequences rich in Guanine that adopt non-B form four-stranded DNA secondary structures termed as G-quadruplexes (G4s). Such non-canonical structures tend to impede the progression of routine replisome and are implicated to have crucial roles in replication, transcription and epigenetic regulation while also ensuring genomic stability. It is now fully established that G4s are enzymatically unfolded by helicases, thus, preventing transient yet apparent impediments to the vital replisome progression. This unfolding of G-quadruplex ensures genetic and epigenetic stability. Given the importance of G4 biology for multiple human parasites such as, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, research efforts probing parasitic G4 biology is gaining momentum with the hope to enable therapeutic intervention. We herein shed light on G4s, conditions that lead to their formation and the mechanisms employed by cells to cause their unfolding. Towards the end, potential drug discovery avenues that arise from targeting parasitic helicases and G4 biology are summarized.

Maximal athletic performance can be limited by various factors, including restricted respiratory function. These limitations can be mitigated through targeted respiratory muscle training, as supported by numerous studies. However, the full potential of respiratory training in competitive finswimming has not been fully investigated. This case study aims to evaluate performance variability during underwater phases in an elite Bi-Fins swimmer (current world record holder and multiple world championship medallist) over a 200m race simulation after an eight-week respiratory training using Airofit PRO™. Performance variability was assessed based on pre-test, inter-test, and post-test data. Each measurement included pulmonary function, body composition, and swim performance evaluations. The swimmer followed a 28-day training program with the AiroFit PRO™ respiratory trainer between tests. Significant improvements were observed in Wilcoxon paired-sample test between the pre-test and post-test in underwater distance (p=0.012; d=1.26), underwater time (p=0.012; d=1.26), and number of underwater kicks (p=0.043; d=1.01), resulting in a 14.23% longer underwater distance, 14.08% longer underwater time, and 14.94% increase in underwater kicks. Despite increased distance and time, underwater velocity remained stable, indicating improved underwater performance efficiency. The results suggest that the AiroFit PRO™ respiratory trainer has practical applications in finswimming training programs.

Crigler-Najjar Syndrome (CNS) is a rare genetic disorder caused by mutations in the UGT1A1 gene, leading to impaired bilirubin conjugation and severe unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia. CNS presents in two forms: CNS type 1 (CNS1), the more severe form with a complete absence of UGT1A1 activity, and CNS type 2 (CNS2), with partial enzyme activity. CNS1 requires aggressive management, including phototherapy and plasmapheresis, but liver transplantation (LT) remains the only definitive cure. The timing of LT is critical, as it must be performed before the onset of irreversible brain damage (kernicterus), making early intervention essential. However, LT poses risks such as graft rejection and lifelong immunosuppression. CNS2 is milder, with patients re-sponding well to phenobarbital and having a lower risk of kernicterus. Recent advancements in gene therapy and autologous hepatocyte transplantation offer promising alternatives to LT. Gene therapy using adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors has shown potential in preclinical studies, though challenges remain in pediatric applications due to liver growth and pre-existing immunity. Autologous hepatocyte transplantation avoids the risks of rejection but requires further research. These emerging therapies provide hope for more effective and less invasive treatment options, aiming to improve the quality of life for CNS patients and reduce reliance on lifelong interven-tions.

Introduction: Patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and multiple myeloma (MM) are susceptible to viral infections, including varicella-zoster virus (VZV) reactivation due to both disease-related and treatment-induced immunosuppression. The recombinant adjuvanted herpes zoster vaccine (RZV) has shown high efficacy in immunocompetent adults, but immunogenicity data in CLL and MM patients is limited. This study evaluates the immunogenicity and safety of RZV in this population. Methods: Patients with CLL and MM vaccinated with RZV (administered in two doses at least one month apart) were included in the study. Pre- and post-vaccination anti-VZV IgM and IgG antibody levels were measured to assess immunogenicity, and adverse events (AEs) were captured for safety evaluation. Results: Seventy-eight patients received both vaccine doses, and 71 had post-vaccination samples. Most of the patients were IgM seronegative and IgG seropositive before vaccination. Pre-vaccination IgG levels were higher in CLL compared to MM patients (p=0.001), while post-vaccination IgG levels significantly increased in both CLL (p<0.0001) and MM (p<0.0001) patients. In actively treated CLL patients, the pre-vaccination IgG levels were significantly lower than in not actively treated patients (p=0.002). Post-vaccination IgG levels were lower in MM patients receiving antiviral prophylaxis concurrently with the vaccination (p=0.013). AEs were reported in 49.4% after the first dose and 48.7% after the second dose, mostly mild (local or low-grade systemic). One case of immune thrombocytopenia was noted. Conclusion: RZV demonstrated strong immunogenicity and acceptable safety in CLL and MM patients, significantly boosting IgG levels, even in actively treated or heavily pretreated patients.

The behavior of concrete beams reinforced with steel and Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) rebars, without shear reinforcement is investigated in the current study. This study includes testing experimentally of twenty-four steel and GFRP Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams cast with different percentage of fibers. The beams were split into two types, steel and GFRP RC beams. Beams of different fiber ratios (0, 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5%) were developed and tested, in two groups, each consists of twelve specimens, steel and GFRP reinforced RC beams. Both steel and GFRP RC beams were cast as singly reinforced with 10 mm diameter longitudinal bars at the bottom. In order to ensure that the beam to fail under shear, the top reinforcement and stirrups are removed. The concrete cover was kept as 30 mm. Three concrete grades (M30, M60 and M80) were examined for different dosage of fibers for both steel and GFRP RC beams. The size of the beam samples was kept as 150 ×200×1500 mm. The key parameters were the form of reinforcement material (steel and GFRP), compressive strength of concrete and fiber percentage. Failure mode, ultimate load carrying capacity, mid-span deflection, strain in concrete and reinforcement (steel and GFRP) of the beams have been reported. It is found that the effect of using fibers and higher grade of concrete is more pronounced in improving stiffness of GFRP RC beams compared to steel RC beams. Hence it can be concluded that GFRP rebars can be used as an efficient type of reinforcement in RC beams.

This study aims to understand the role of BPJS Kesehatan as a variable that mediates or mediates the relationship between emergency services and patient satisfaction. This can include how administrative processes, access to services, or costs incurred by BPJS affect the relationship between service and satisfaction. Quantitative studies of a correlational nature are a part of this investigation. In order to forecast endogenous variables (Y) Purchase decisions, researchers conduct correlational studies, which examine the link between one or more variables and other factors. Here, X represents emergency services, Y stands for patient satisfaction, and M for BPJS are the exogenous variables. The purpose of this research is to examine the role of BPJS as a moderator between the impact of emergency services on patients' levels of satisfaction. There were 120 people that filled out the survey, and the margin of error was 10% (based on a 90% truth rate and a 10% error rate). Purposive sampling was used to select participants for the aforementioned studies. Warppls 8.0 and the Warp Partial Least Square program were utilized for data analysis in this investigation. The study found that PKD significantly and positively affected 71% of participants' happiness with the impact they received. With a 63% influence, PKD has a favorable and statistically significant effect on BPJS. Patient satisfaction is significantly impacted by BPJS, which has a favorable association. When looking at the connection between community satisfaction and emergency services, BPJS is a key mediator. Community satisfaction can be enhanced through the provision of fast and excellent emergency services, and BPJS plays a vital role in mediating this relationship. The beneficial effect of emergency services on community satisfaction can be amplified if BPJS is able to offer sufficient coverage while simultaneously reducing costs and expediting administrative processes.

The effects of toxic air in the form of air pollution are known to harm women’s health. New data has shown that air pollution has effects on maternal anemia. Yet the effects of particulate matter 2.5 (PM_2.5) on hemoglobin among reproductive maternal (15-49 years) has been understudied. In this population-based study, we study the region-specific associations between prevalence of hemoglobin among reproductive women and PM_2.5 in 43 countries of Africa from 2000-2019. Using generalized linear regression models, we found that after adjusting for key covariates, PM_2.5 had a slight negative association with hemoglobin among reproductive women. Other studies are needed in other low-income settings to expand our findings.

In this study, in order to determine the effect of matrices shape on percolation threshold values, computer simulations were performed using the Monte Carlo method for a 200x200 square-shaped matrix and rectangular matrices containing the same number of nodes as the square matrix. Based on the simulations, the average values of percolation thresholds and standard deviations for current flow along and across the matrices were determined. It was determined that for a square-shaped matrix, the average values of percolation thresholds in both directions of current flow were the same. Extending the rectangular matrix while reducing its height causes the average value of the percolation threshold in the direction of current flow along the matrix to increase from 0.592740 to 0.759847, while in the transverse direction it decreases from 0.592664 to 0.403614. The values of the classical asymmetry coefficients of the probability distributions of percolation thresholds for both directions of current flow were determined. Histograms of the probability distributions of percolation threshold values for square-shaped matrix and rectangular matrices were made and compared with normal distributions. It was found that the occurrence of two percolation thresholds in rectangular layers should be considered when analyzing electrical conductivity measurements of nanocomposite thin films.

The rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked extensive debate about its impact on the safety and security of society. While AI has shown trans- formative potential, particularly in areas such as healthcare and independent structures where it complements productivity and minimizes human error, accu- racy and protection. However, the misuse of artificial intelligence poses real risks, along with threats such as deep counterfeiting, computer cyber-attacks and the manipulation of social behavior through disinformation. These risks vary from privacy and cyber security breaches to moral dilemmas around liability. The unchecked improvement of AI is expected to threaten the social order, so the relationship between innovation and governance is essential so that AI-related threats do not overshadow its benefits. This article offers a detailed assessment and review of the literature that studies the potential dangers that AI poses to society. The cumulative effects underscore the urgent need for comprehensive regulatory frameworks to mitigate these threats.

Trichiurus japonicus is the most productive fish caught in our country. In order to understand the seasonal distribution of Trichiurus japonicus in the central and southern parts of the East China Sea and Yellow Sea, three species distribution models were adopted, namely Random Forest Model, K-nearest neighbor algorithm and gradient ascending decision Tree model, based on the data of trawling surveys in the central and southern parts of the East China Sea and Yellow Sea from 2008 to 2009. Combined with variance inflation factor and cross-check, the distribution model of Trichiurus japonicus was screened and constructed to analyze the influence of environmental factors on the distribution of Trichiurus japonicus in the central and southern parts of the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea. The results showed that the random forest model had the advantages of fitting effect and prediction ability among the three models. The analysis of this model showed that the water depth, bottom water temperature and surface salinity had a great influence on the habitat distribution of Trichiurus japonicus. The relative resources of Trichiurus japonicus increased with the increase of bottom water temperature and reached the maximum at 23.8℃, and first increased and then decreased with the increase of water depth and surface salinity, reaching the maximum at 72 m and 31.2‰, respectively. The random forest model was used to predict the spatial distribution of Trichiurus japonicus in the East China Sea and the central and southern Yellow Sea during 2008-2009, and the results showed that the predicted results were close to the actual situation. The research results can provide reference for the exploitation and protection of Trichiurus japonicus resources in the East China Sea and the central and southern Yellow Sea.

This study provides a detailed examination of Natural Language Processing (NLP) for the complexscript of Nepali. We analyze available data resources today and discuss relevant points includingcharacter encoding, advanced tokenization methods and morphological complexity. This allows us tocontrast Nepal’s unique language and technology ecosystem with Hindi and Thai in terms of NLPadvancements. Quantitative assessment of existing tools and resources is offered by this investigationwhich highlights immediate weaknesses as well as areas that need more effort. Various ethicalconcerns are addressed here while potential topics for future research as e-governance, healthcare oreducation with a focus on new domain-specific applications, and cross-lingual transfer learning aresuggested. The objective of this attempt is to enhance understanding of natural language processing(NLP) in Nepali language and beyond aimed at developing NLP technologies that are more efficient,inclusive, culturally appropriate across diverse linguistic communities.

Maintaining the optimal microclimate in broiler houses is crucial for bird productivity, yet enabling efficient temperature control remains a significant challenge. This study developed and validated a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model to predict temporal changes in indoor air temperature in response to variable ventilation operations in a commercial broiler house. The model accurately simulated air velocity and airflow distribution for different numbers of tunnel fans in operation, with air-velocity errors ranging from -0.22 to 0.32 m s-1. The predicted airflow rates through inlets and cooling pads showed good agreement with measured values with an accuracy of up to 108.1%. Additionally, the CFD model effectively predicted temperature dynamics, accounting for chicken heat production and ventilation effect. The model successfully predicted the longitudinal temperature gradients and their variations during ventilation cycles, validating its reliability through comparison with experimental data. The study also explored different variable inlet configurations to mitigate the temperature gradient. The variable inlet adjustment showed the potential to relieve the high temperatures but may reduce overall ventilation efficiency or intensify temperature gradients, which confirms the importance of optimising ventilation strategies. This CFD model provides a valuable tool for evaluating and improving ventilation systems and contributes to enhanced indoor microclimates and productivity in poultry houses.

A previous research showed the 1755 tsunami would inundate the Marginal Avenue, the railway and the low ground area of Caxias, Oeiras municipality, Portugal. Thus, in this study several proposals for coastal protection are presented. A new Lidar data of local topography allowed the construction of a more accurate DEM, including the representation of the streets of Caxias downtown, to be used in the tsunami numerical model. The results were combined with field survey on Caxias and other coastal areas of Portugal and Japan. The new calculations show the low ground areas up to 6 m in height area inundated by the tsunami. However, with the new proposal DEM the tsunami inundation is restricted to the beaches. The proposal includes the construction of a new sea wall with 7 m in height at Caxias beach, the increase in height of the Barcarena Stream levees and the elevation of the sidewalk at São Bruno beach, with a gentle slope up to 7 m in height. It is also proposed the construction of a third bridge over the Barcarena Stream for pedestrian ranging from 5 to 7 m in height that will serve as a gate for the incoming tsunami waves.

The present study aims to find out the financial risk tolerance scores of the rural residents of Ludhiana district. Also, how drivers such as socio-demographic factors, namely, gender, age, education, annual income, existence of loan, occupation, employment status and psychological factors, namely, deliberative thinking, optimism and personality type A/ B impact financial risk tolerance of rural residents. The study is important for financial policy makers as they will become aware about scenario of rural residents and frame policies accordingly. Stepwise regression analysis was carried on. The result was found out that optimism positively and deliberative thinking negatively impacted financial risk tolerance, but personality type A/B did not have a significant impact on financial risk tolerance. Socio-demographic factors such as existence of loan, full-time salaried individuals, marital status significantly impacted financial risk tolerance. Other factors failed to have impact on financial risk tolerance of rural residents in the current study.

Endometrial cancer (EC) poses a significant global health challenge, with increasing prevalence in 26 of 43 countries and over 13,000 deaths projected in the United States by 2024. This rise correlates with aging populations, the obesity epidemic, and changing reproductive patterns, including delayed childbearing. Despite the early diagnosis in 67% of cases, approximately 30% of cases present with regional or distant spread, leading to nearly 20% mortality rates. Unlike many cancers, EC mortality rates are escalating, outpacing therapeutic advancements until recently. One of the reasons for this was the lack of effective therapeutic options for advanced disease until recently. The introduction of immunotherapy has marked a turning point in EC treatment, particularly benefiting patients with defects in mismatch repair proteins (dMMRs). However, dMMR status alone does not ensure a favorable response, underscoring the need for precise patient selection. This review explores the pivotal role of mismatch repair proteins in EC, emphasizing their heterogeneity, the challenges in their assessment, and their potential as predictive biomarkers.

Deep-learning-based convection schemes receive wide attention due to its impressive im-provement on precipitation distribution and tropical convections of earth system simulation. But they cannot represent the stochasticity of moist physics, which will degrade the simulation of large-scale circulations, climate mean, and variability. To solve this problem, a stochastic pa-rameterization scheme based on probabilistic diffusion model named DIFF-MP is developed. The cloud-resolving data from GRIST model is coarse-grained into resolved-scale variables and sub-grid contributions due to moist physics to form the training data. DIFF-MP’s performance is compared against generative adversarial network and variational autoencoder. Results show that DIFF-MP is consistently better than the other two models on prediction error, coverage ratio, and spread-skill correlation. The standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis of subgrid contributions generated by DIFF-MP is also closer to the testing data than the others. Interpretability experiment shows that DIFF-MP’s parameterization of moist physics is physically reasonable.

The present study investigated how two types of face masks affected seven acoustic parameters, commonly used in forensic speaker recognition, in several languages. Reading samples from an excerpt of “The Little Prince” were recorded by volunteers of both genders speaking in Lithuanian, Croatian, Romanian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Portuguese, Georgian, Hungarian, Spanish, Russian, Polish, and German, without a protection mask, wearing a surgical mask, and wearing an FFP2 mask. In addition, recordings from mobile and landline communications in some of the mentioned languages were also obtained. A total of 860 volunteers were recorded. The dataset is part of the Forensic Multilingual Voices Database (FMVD), developed under the “Competency, Education, Research, Testing, Accreditation, and Innovation in Forensic Science” (CERTAIN-FORS) project, funded by the European Union (EU) and coordinated by the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI). The results showed that face masks have an impact on the studied acoustic parameters and that the effects vary with mask type, sex, language, and recording channel.
