To address this, we are pleased to introduce this new and exciting tool to help our readers. This is a new feature designed to streamline the process of tracking and sharing preprints that are aligned with a reader’s specific research interests.

Preprints are an invaluable resource. But they suffer the same problem that peer-reviewed research experiences. Without a good way to filter and search, you might spend a lot of time just trying to find what you’re looking for. To help with this problem, Search Subscription empowers readers to:
- Stay Informed: Researchers can directly receive the latest preprints relevant to their defined research interests. This let’s them stay at the cutting edge of research in their fields of interest.
- Save Time: Researchers and authors never seem to have enough time. Eliminating the need for repetitive manual searches can be extremely beneficial. By saving search criteria and receiving regular updates, the time saved can be better spent on other things.
- Work Together: Preprints believes in collaboration. By sharing customized search criteria with others, researchers can foster collaboration.
Getting Started with Search Subscription
Instead of long and complicated processes, the Search Subscription is quick and easy. Setting it up can be done simply, leading to more effective searches. If you want to use the system, it’s as easy as following these four steps:
- Search: Search as you usually would. Use the available filters on Preprints.org to refine the results. Find the research you’re looking for—quickly and easily.
- Subscribe: To make sure that you keep the search query for later, click the “Subscribe” button. This allows you to save the search query.
- Edit Subscription: Pick a name for your subscription. You can also select your preferred update frequency.
- Optional RSS Integration: Do you use an external feed reader? For those who prefer external feed readers, an RSS link is available for direct integration.
Managing Subscriptions
Subscriptions are a powerful tool to stay organized. The Search Subscription feature can help you do just that. Subscriptions can help you to follow cutting-edge research or specific authors. The “My Subscription” section, on your profile dashboard, provides comprehensive control over your subscriptions. Here are options you can control:
- Notification Management: While being notified is useful, sometimes you might want to adjust these notifications. Turn email updates on or off as needed.
- Edit Details: You can easily modify the search criteria or frequency. Get the results you want, when you want them.
- Share with Others: If you find something interesting that you think someone else might like, share it with them. You can easily generate a link to share the search with others.
Seamless Collaboration Through Sharing
Preprints believes in the power of collaboration. Sharing research is simple and perfect for improved collaboration:
- Go to “My Subscription”: Click the three-dot menu next to the subscription to share your search.
- Copy the Link: Get the unique link and copy it.
- Send It Out: Share the link with colleagues, coworkers, friends, or anyone else that you think might be interested in your search. Helping others to find interesting research is one way to collaborate.
- Let Them Join: Recipients can then either subscribe to the search directly or import it using their own profile. Sometimes collaboration can be helping someone find the right direction to start from.
