A New Look and a New Policy

We have recently revised our website with the aim at making information crystal clear, in particular, you can get a good overview of how the preprint process works at https://www.preprints.org/how_it_works.
We have also found recently that a number of authors have requested to withdraw their preprint shortly after posting. There are various valid, reasons for doing so, but our withdrawal policy has been rigid and caused issues in some cases. To better accommodate the wishes of authors, we have decided to delay registration of digital object identifiers (a permanent ID) for a week after posting. This gives authors the opportunity to update or withdraw their work for a limited time. We are still actively considering policies in this area and will closely monitor the impact of this change.
