Abstract
Some doubts have been expressed about the accuracy of econometric models that measure the real impact that banking financial institutions have on boosting the agricultural sector in particular and, more broadly, the real sector. Besides financial credit provided by the banking sector, many macro- and microeconomic variables, as well as business environment variables, have been found to impact growth. Poor banking sector performance has consequences on economic activity, leading to economic contraction, and vice versa. The ultimate goal of this paper was to examine the degree of elasticity between two variables, namely, agricultural credit and agricultural growth, in Angola in the period between 2003 and 2022. The outcome of this analysis indicated that agricultural credits have significant impact on agricultural growth.
